Hello to all mylotters. I'm curious... how many of you type with two hands on the keyboard ? I am a two handed typer and I can't write with one hand at all. If I try to write with my right hand only I have to look at the keyboard to hit the keys but if I type with two hands I don't have to look at the keys. I'm very pleased with my typing speed, I write pretty fast and with very little typing errors. I started typing with two hands when I had my first computer at home 6 years ago.
How about you ? Do you type with two hands when your at the computer ?

I write with two hands pretty good and fast. I can type with one hand fairly fast while I am eating on the phone. Only typing I can't do is the on-screen keyboard typing with the mouse I don't think there is any way to get fast at that. Lol. At first when I saw the preview of the discussion I thought it was odd that you were asking if. People type with one hand because I thought you wanted to learn.lol. good thing I opened up the discuss .

In Indonesia we call it typing with 10 fingers. I type with 11 fingers (which really are two fingers, one on the right, one on the left). I tried to type with 10 fingers somehow my little fingers do not function well. They are not strong enough to push buttons. So, I guess I ended up typing with 7 - 8 fingers and still I have to look on the keyboard otherwise I type alien language.

I never payed attention to lock how many fingers I'm using when typing. But mostly I use the left thumb to press space and the other fingers that I use are the point, the middle finger and the ring holder. I rarely use the pinky because I find it difficult to control it. I mostly use my pinky to press the TAB key.

Oh yes, you are right. I forgot to mention that. I use my pinky from my left hand to press the Left CTRL, Left Shift, Tab, Caps Lock and also the right hand pinky I use Right Shift when making emotes lie " :)) " so I have to hold down the Shift key but I also use the ring holder as well to press the Right Shift key.

Mee too i peek at the keyboard when i press keys other than the letters, tab, capslock, esc, shift, alt, windows, enter, spacebar, backspace and ctrl. haha. But most of the time I only look at the screen because for me its easier to see if there are mistakes.

2 hands. Not looking at the keyboard. aprox 70wpm.
with one hand, its probably 30wpm, i don't really have to look, but i would prefer not to type with one hand unless necessary... usually whatever it is -- its not important enough to make me type with one hand. it can wait till I'm done doing whatever it is that I'm doing lol

Agree with you, finish whatever your doing and get back on the keyboard and type normally. Only type one handed if you don't have to write long sentences. Usually type with one hand when I need to insert a verification code from an image and all the other stuff like that.
Thank you for your answer !

Yes, I type with my two hands. I can in fact type faster than write. My typing speed right now is 70 words per minute. This is one skill the compliments me because I love writing and it is important that I can type fast so I won't lose the ideas playing in my mind.

It's true that it's very boring to type with one hand. At first when I first bought my computer, it was annoying for me to type because my typing speed was slower than a turtle and was very angry when I was looking at the keyboard searching for keys.

In my elementary school, we learned to type with two hands. I took keyboarding classes and improved my speed. I have to look at the keyboard when I use the numbers, I keep hitting the wrong button. We also learned to make sure you keep your wrists up off the keyboard, I don't remember why. It could be it's better for your wrists.

I type from both the hands and its not fast to use just one hand. I do it sometime when busy with eating something holding something in my one hand.

I use my two hands to type on the keyboards and I am doing the right fingers in typing. I can say that it is very easy when you are used to this kind of position and you could type really fast. At first I thought it is very difficult but when I got used to it I find it very easy and I am thankful that I have learned it when I was younger. Now I am enjoying the benefits of using both hands in typing.

I have to use two hands and I think most people who are really good, speedy typists use two hands as well. Whenever I'm busy and having to type with only one hand for whatever the reason may be, it just doesn't work and I end up typing so ridiculously slow that it's almost not even worth it to try to keep typing with only the single hand lol With two hands though I'm super fast.

I think most people type with 2 hands as it should be. We can't type that fast with a single hand. Especially if one hand is on the mouse. But it would be cool to type rapidly with the left hand while the right hand is on the mouse. =)

I use two hands because it's faster but if I am holding something or doing something else I use one. And I can type pretty fast, don't get me wrong when I say this, but I don't use any "home row" keys or anything, I just know where they are on the keyboard and kind of free-form type.

I get the idea. I am also forced sometimes to type with one hand but when I'm typing with one hand it seems that it takes me forever to finish the sentence I wanna write so I rather stop doing what I'm doing with the other hand and finish what I have to write and then get back to what I was doing.

I type with two hands. I never look down at the keyboard. It's not like the keyboard is going to move. I also have a very fast typing speed, especially on a lap top, my fingers just glide on it. I think the reason why you can't type as good with one hand is because you have to move your hand in a different position to reach the keys on the other side of the keyboard, and your hand will get lost, where as if you type with two hands, your hands are pretty much set in the same position!

I almost always type with two hands, except when my kids were babies and I was holding one of them with the other hand. I got pretty good at typing one handed during some late night feedings!

I use two hand when typing in my computer coz it's really impossible for me to type with one hand and without looking the keyboard haha. I can type without looking the keyboard too but I am slow with that. I would prefer typing in two hands at the same time sneak on the keyboard and check all the typos:)

Most of the time I type with two hands. I type very seldom on one hand because Im very slow using only one. I'm only a fast one-hand typer in typing my name and passwords. Its hard to type on one hand if you are answering in discussions such as this one. haha.
