Does Halloween honor the dead?

Halloween observed on October 31, is celebrated world wide by young and old, infact it has been embedded into the christian faith. But wouldn't it be dishonoring the dead? We dont see our beloved dead ones in such a way. Wouldn't Halloween mean to enjoy ourselves, portraying that The Devil is fun and friendly? The Encyclopedia Americana says- Elements of the customs connected with Halloween can be traced to an ancient Celtic priesthood ceremony in pre-Christian times. The Celts had festivals for two major gods—a sun god and a god of the dead . The festival of the dead was gradually incorporated into Christian ritual. What are your views on this?

The most important thing for me would be to ask What does God Almighty think of this? How does He feel if we celebrate festivals that have their roots in false religion? The God of truth has tolerated false religion temporarily for what for us seems to be a long time, but he will soon clean the world from all false worship, including festivals that have their roots in it. What a wonderful feeling it will be when only the truth will be taught to all human beings. Thank you my friend for this interesting subject..

Yeah buenavida, we all wait for the time when the truth alone triumphs over falsehood. We gotta keep in mind of what God's standards are regarding several celebrations. Thanx 4 responding.

I try not to dig deep into this. It is a great day to dress up and have fun. Faith has a weird way of getting involved in our day to day lives, but in the end what its all about is just enjoying the life we have and living it the best we can. Happy lotting!
