I just plain don't understand why preachers don't teach the whole bible!

I was brought up in one religion that taught some day we would all fly away. I found out this isn't true. I was also taught to that God was one you had to fear even if your doing what you think God wants you to do. Wow this did a weird thing to my mind. Well I found out that God don't want you to fear HIM HE wants us to revere HIM. HE wants our love Hosea6:6 It says that God wants our love! Some churches I have been to tells the people that they don't need to understand parts of the old and new testament. I find this shocking for without the old testament you wouldn't understand what would happen to Christ in the new testament. Without out the new testament Revelations you wouldn't understand what would happen before Christ return. This just shocks me how some preachers can teach one part of the bible isn't important to know! If you really want to hear the truth you need to listen to this man http://www.shepherdschapel.com/index.htm . Isaiah 7:14 tells a virgin will conceive and bare a son and will name HIM Im-man'-u-el. Eziekiel 44:28 speaks of Christ return. So my question to you is why do you think that these people that are supposed to be people called by God to teach us can say that one part of the bible isn't as important as the other part? Are you taught that you don't need to understand parts of the bible? Are you a pew warmer? That means you go to church and aren't really fed the word of The LORD! Have you been to a church that teach a Scripture or a few from the bible and then get on to talking about other stuff for the rest of the hour? Have you been to a church that they pass the collection plate a few times before the end of church? Did you know that God don't send out beggars? The followers of Christ in HIS time was told not to carry a begging bag! Did you know that? We are worth our hire, if we work the right way of the LORD, God will reward you! God blesses those that do HIS will!

Herro free_man I am very blessed by my earthly home. We attend a church where our pastor teaches the whole Bible, old and new testament. He ties the two together. He truly teaches scripture in a manner that we can apply the concepts to our lives. I am truly blessed and thank God every day for my church home and the members of our body. God bless you Prosperous mylotting

Herro free_man I was thrilled to read your response. God does work in mysterious ways. I understand business, especially when we are growing in God. God is a very loving God. He proved that by giving His Son as a free gift of mercy to atone for our sins. May God continue to bless you and your current relationship. May you continue to learn about the Loving God I know. God bless you Prosperous mylotting

All I have to say is that, it's up to you whether you believe in all the things that preachers say. You have free will to choose and no one can take that away from you...:D In the end, you'll still reflect on other people say. Also, there are things that preachers cannot teach because they can't teach it and they don't have the capacity to teach it. Reason? Because we should learn it on our own...:D Haha...:D

Hi Mac. But it says in the bible that judgment begins at the pulpit why then would a preacher/teacher not teach what is in the bible. This is one reason we don't go to a regular church and get our teachings from the net. We listen to a man that teaches straight from the bible chapter by chapter verse by verse. http://www.shepherdschapel.com/index.htm We have been listening to him since 04 and have learned so much from his way of teaching.

I understand there are many religious groups out there including the biggest religious group in the world, the Roman Catholic Church, they forbid their members to read the Bible. The reason why they do that is, they said, a wrong interpretation of the Bible can mislead a soul. So, what they do is, only the priest or the preacher are allowed to read the Bible, and then relay the message to the congregation. But there is an inherent flaw in that style! What if the preacher is no longer using the Bible? What if the preacher is already neglecting some important lessons in the Bible? We were told by our Bible professor when I was a student that if you are going to preach God's word, preach it in full, because "half truth is false".

Hi Magtibaygom. You are so right in your response. That is why King James had the bible translated into plain english. And he didn't just trust one scholar he hired 78 different ones to translate the bible. Our preacher teaches that if your going to teach the bible you better teach the truth because judgment begins at the pulpit! And God frowns on those that don't teach the truth. Our preacher also tells everyone to not just take his word for it when he reads he tells us to check him out in the bible. I like that! There is so much we can all learn by reading the bible and listening to a real teacher of Gods word. God says in the bible remind me of MY promises to you (meaning anyone reading the bible) so I can justify you! Meaning we are supposed to understand what the bible says ! That is why I don't understand people that will listen to false teachers.

Some preachers do teach the whole Bible. Those who don't are usually motivated by the desire not to offend anyone, which is motivated by the desire to have as much money put in the collection plate as possible. If they offend people, instead of the people taking it like true Christians and allowing God to change them, they get angry and leave the church, taking their money with them. At least that's the way I see it. Personally, I like it when the preacher steps on my toes. It means that God used him to point out something in my life that needs to be changed.
