I hate menstrual periods. I will be so glad when menopause hits me and I don't have to worry about it anymore. I find it to be disgusting, especially when it's hot and I'm having complications that I've never had before. I had never been one of the women to have mood swings, severe headaches, bloating or menstrual cramps, but now for the first time in my life, I am starting to experience these PAINFUL side effects. I've tried Midol, different kinds of Tylenol and other medications only to be unsuccessful. Then, I wear pads and pantyliners because tampons are so freaking uncomfortable. I can feel them everywhere I move. How do you ladies cope with these symptoms and when will it all end?? ugh..

I also hate periods. I also don't have that pain during periods before until I ate a half kilo of oranges. After that, I get a package of menstrual cramps and vomits. But what I do to relieve me of the pain is to drink a different kind of coffee with ganoderma. It eases up the pain and the vomiting goes away after drinking that for an hour or so with some sleep. :D

I wish I could find my comfort food or comfort zone when I feel completely MISERABLE! What is ganoderma??

Is ganoderma nasty or can you taste it mixed into your coffee??

Ganoderma is a mushroom and it's extracts are known for its miraculous healing effect. It is commonly use to treat AIDS, allergies, diabetes, coronary diseases, and many more. I don't know why it eliminates the pain I get since it is not mentioned from the readings I have scanned that it also cures menstrual pains. :D

Yes menstruation are a set back for us females. I however do not have such side effects from it. Knock on wood, do not want to start. LOL.
However have you ever spoken to a woman who is pre-menopausal or post menopausal. It is fun either.

I used to could say that pre-pregnancy. After I had my daughter, my body underwent a lot of changes... hence the oncoming of menstrual symptoms.
I have actually just read a comment posted to this very discussion by a post-menopausal woman and that doesn't seem very fun, either. When will our pain end???

I completely agree with you. The day I hit menopause I'm throwing a big party to celebrate. For me it's more the mess than anything else, although I get cramps too. The best I can do is take a pill and curl up in bed when the pain hits. And I've yet to find any pads (can't do tampons either) that adequately prevent stains. Menopause, I'm more than ready for you.

LOL! @ the big party. Please invite me!! Because I plan to be BLOOD-LEAKING free too! I'm not an avid wearer of tampons either because they are unsanitary and uncomfortable... I also wear pads. For my heavy flows (which I rarely have because my period only lasts on average about 5 days) I have to use pads with wings that are thick like the overnight-ready pads. They come in all types of different brands.. I also find making makeshift blood guards out of pantyliners works too... up under your pad... to catch what your pad may NOT catch. I'm sure it'll get better for the both of us, we just have to expect it!!

Last year or the year before, I posted a discussion, "dear uterus" asking it when it was going to stop torturing me. I'm happy to report (knock on wood), that the blessed event happened this year, and I am period free. Now that I've said that, it will probably start up again. lol

LOL That is hilarious!!! I would've liked to read that and LUCKY YOU! I know that was the highlight of the year for you. Have you been having any bad symptoms?? Lots of women on this discussion are saying that it is worse to experience menopause than to experience the actual menstrual period, but I beg to differ and will gladly be the judge of that! lol Congratulations!!!

Hi, mrscallsands22 I know how you feel! I have been down this road so many times! I don't like feeling sweaty and hot either. I hate cramps too! Before I have gotten pregnant, the cramps did hurt very badly. After I have had all three of my kids, it seems like the cramps have lessened some. I don't like it when I have to go out for a long time when my menstrual cycle comes on.. It can be very depressing! And painful. I worry to much about the smell and if I may bleed through my clothes

Oh yea me too!! Good point, I HATE the fact that I'm always checking the back of my pants for blood stains just in case I've leaked around my pad... and when it's hot it seems that the smell seems to travel more so I take frequent showers when I'm on my menstrual period, especially during the summer. I hope that you feel better, too!! Because it does suck... royally.

Join the club, it's one I cannot wait to get out of too. The older you get the worse it gets. I too am seeking menopause desperately as all the symptoms you mentioned are the sad facts of being a woman. Some day we will look back on all this and say glad that is over. Hang in.

Menstruation is normal to all women. Whenever I have it I am really irritated too. I hate using pads and I hate heavy flows. I had menstruation when I turned 13 years old until 22 and 1/2 years old. I no longer have menstruation now, for a year and a half. Maybe you are wondering why? Okay I will tell you why. But in your case I hope you could visit a doctor and explain the problem you are having so that they could help you because that is really a big problem not just once but every month. My aunt had this dysmenorrhea which is a very painful experience below abdomen part that keeps her rolling over the floor because of too much pain. I have seen her when I was about high school and it made me nervous because she was in terrible pain and crying out loud. Anyway I think she was able to graduate with those painful days due to medication.
When I still had my menstruation, I have always been wishing that I reach the age of 45 so that it will stop and I can be included in the list of menopause ladies. But I am glad that at age 24 I no longer have it, I am just enjoying every single day and every month because of no worries! The secret is that I am having injectable contraceptives. It stopped the menstruation and never came back unless I stop getting injected. Just to make it clear I am a married woman with 1 year and 9 months old son and I have been given the option by my Ob Gyne of what method I wanted to have. Taking pills will still allow you to have periods, but when she explained to me the effects of injectables, wow I was so relieved because for a year and a half now I am not having periods! That's all, I hope you could visit a doctor because I am not sure if this is allowed for single ladies.

Yori,
I know a lot of women who is on the birth control shots or injectable contraceptives as you explain them and I seriously thought about it. I wanted SOME sort of relief so that I could breathe a little easier every month not dreading the pain that awaits.. But the women that I have seen on the shot BLEW UP... I mean they gained some serious weight. My cousin was a size 3 like 2 years ago and now she is bigger than me in a size 11.. borderline size 13. That's where I drew the line.. but now I will have to look for something that suits me and doesn't alter my health or anything in any way.
Thanks for sharing your insight!!

I can not wait for this week in my life to pass me by. Why can't men have to go through something like this too. They like to make jokes, but i see nothing funny about periods. It is a necessary time in a woman's life, but why does it have to be so trying as well. Headaches, cramps, nausea, bloating and that over all feeling of uncleanliness. Too much suffering has to go along with this. Can't there be an easier way to get through this life cycle?

I don't wish periods on men... I just wish that we didn't have them either. And you're right..., there's nothing fun OR funny about BLEEDING for days on end trying to cleanse your body of an unused and unwanted egg. Quite frankly, it's disgusting!!! I feel like bleeding is a terrible enough symptom... but with all of the others hitting strong simultaneously... it makes you miserable... and I was hoping you guys could help me with remedies.. that's why I posted this blog.. but so far the only things I am getting is like aspirin or Midol.. things of that nature... warm compressing pads... coffee with some type of mushroom in it... I've gotten *ahem* quite a few responses.. check them out.. maybe it may benefit you, too!

Not only is it uncomfortable, it kills what little self-esteem I have. I feel that I am at my worst when I have my period. My face breaks out in pimples, my hair goes limp, I get bloated, etc. I have to lock myself up in my room for 2-3 days every month because a.) I have to writhe in pain and get high on pain killers and; b.) I have to hide my face from the world. Though I must say that I'm happy it only happens once a month.

Yea, I understand where you're coming from. I already have one daughter which is enough for me. I just get tired of the pains that come with it every month especially when I'm not used to it... as I haven't had these pains all of my life. As I've stated before, I just hope it gets better over time.

I actually had wanted a hysterectomy and I'm only 22. My OB said that I had to be at least 25 years old with 2 children and my mom still had to sign for it. That's crazy.. anywho yes it does seem a bit worse during the summer than in the winter months and you are LUCKY!! lol

I also hate it when it comes but it is our body's natural way of releasing that unfertilized egg. I don't really hate the whole idea of it I just hate the pain and those PMS. Whenever I get them I usually crave for foods and I give in to these cravings. I bring extra pads and change them whenever I went to the comfort room. Thankfully I seldom experience the cramps now.

LOL yea it sucks about the egg part. I wish that our body release some sort of mild catalyst that dissolved the egg or something. It really does SUCK. I don't really have much cravings and actually eat less than I've ever eaten in my life at this point. I have dropped a lot of weight over the past few months and a lot of people ask me, "How did you LOSE weight after pregnancy?? I thought you were supposed to GAIN!" lol

I'm sorry that it sucks for you, too. I wish there was a way that we didn't have anymore at all.. without fatal complications. I'm not really into taking medicine a lot, either. For instance, when I have a headache, I'd rather try to sleep it off than take any aspirin for it. But, unfortunately for period pain, I HAVE to take something. I wish you better times and better times for me too.

Ew, I hate periods too. I am 22 and I suffer from low blood pressure and anemia, so every single month I feel completely like sh*t when it's the time of my period.
The only thing I do is just taking a NeoMesulide - even if I don't know if you have the same kind of meds outside of my country too - and try to relax as much as I can. In summer I often can't even get out of my bed because I feel so tired everything I do, with headaches, cramps and the lowest blood pressure I've ever experienced. Sometimes it just sucks being a woman. :/

I am anemic, too, so I know what you feel. I just feel so drained and have NO energy, especially in this heat wave. It does suck sometimes to be a woman. Men don't experience anything quite like this or pregnancy or childbirth and it can be quite ridiculous. I've never heard of NeoMesulide but I will research it to see whether it is available in the US.

Well I don't know if I would wish for menopause yet as apparently it is just as unpleasant but I have suffered from these side effects for years now and the only thing I found to work was really strong pain killers, a hot water bottle and heaps of chocolate. Chocolate won't do much to help with the pain but getting your monthly's is a really good excuse to eat it. Hahaha. Seriously though if the pain gets too bad go to the doctor and they may be able to help. Tampons tend to make the pain worse so stick to pads, I do. Hope this helps a bit as I know what you are going through. Good luck.

If I was going to experience this, I wish I would've experienced it pre-pregnancy so that it wouldn't come as such a shocker now and seemingly more painful. I love chocolate so that may help me deter my attention from the pain.. but the headaches are almost unbearable and appear to come out of NOWHERE.. so the next thing I know I'm hit before I know it and struggling to stop the throbbing sensations of agony.
What is the hot bottle of water for??
I can't use tampons because I feel them every time I move. It is very uncomfortable to sit or do anything. So, yes I will definitely be sticking to pads. I am thinking of converting to the shot as a form of birth control as I hear that women don't have periods while on the shot.. but I also heard that it makes you gain excessive weight. I have currently been alternating between the pills and the patch. I find that the patch works better for me.. as I change it weekly instead of taking pills daily, which I tend to forget...

Hi Friends,
People will say you'll know the value of shadow in the sunlight. Like that i've poly cystic ovaries. To say simple irregular periods.
Sometimes once in 4 months, even it happenned once in 6 months. Now i found that it going to be my big sad in my future marriage life. I used to wait eagerly for my mensus. Do you believe. When i inform my mom that i got mensus without pills, she'll get happy like i said im pregnant. True. So accept the natural things as it is and dont feel bad for it.
