Are you aware that formaldehyde, benzene, and trichloroethylene are just a few very dangereous pollants/toxins that are circling around in the air in your home? Well they are, and you and your family breath them into your bodies everyday causing serious health problems, such as cardiac arrthythmias, central nervous system, other respitory problems. Just because we don't see them doesn't mean they are not there.
If you live in an old house that has cracks here and there, it is said that the pollants/toxins aren't as many. Why are newer homes more likely to have more pollants? I am glad you ask. All new buildings, including homes, are now being built "air tight" there are no cracks for venetilation. Most all new "air tight" buildings are believed to be suffering from "Sick Building Syndrome," (the pollants/toxins can't escape).
Formaldehyde, benzene, and tricloroethylene all come from different sources in and around your home. Some sources are synthetic carpet, laminate countertop, glues and resin use to lay wood floors, furniture wax, exhaust from automibiles, spot removers, typewriter correcting fluid, etc. I am sure you can think of a few more.
There are ways that we can help clean the air in our homes, but this way that I will share here is easy, inexpensive, and beautifying. Purchasing specific kind of house plants can actually reduce or remove many toxins from our homes. My home has many of them. Ready? Here they are, in not particular order.
1. English Ivy
2. Spider Plant 3. Weeping Fig
4. Heartleaf 5. Bamboo Palm
6. Peace Lily
7. Snake Plant
8. Elephant Ear
9. Heartleaf Philodendron (same as # 4)
The list can go on,but I will stop here. So, what are you waiting for? Go shopping for some of those life-saving, air cleaning plants, and breath better air.

Wow I didn't knew that plants can remove the toxins in the air. This is very helpful. We have plants and orchids outside, can these clean the air inside or should I place the plant inside? They are outdoor plants because they require tons of water and sunlight and I'm afraid they cannot live inside. I cannot also classify plants so I'd have to go to garden stores that provides information about them.
This may seem irrelevant but in some ways it's close to the topic. The pyramid has little ventilation and the mummies are mummified with resin that is why the air inside it is toxic. (Talk about zombies,lol..like the game) Most researchers who entered and got ill first thought that the place is cursed but it is actually the toxic gas that build up inside. That must be the same thing that happens in our homes and I believe it is better to have open windows instead of air conditioners because it is a practical way to have cool air while having the pollution go out.
Thank you for that helpful air-cleaning tip.

Hi,
Not all types of plants are helpful. Those that are listed are sure hitters,so are the Chrysanthemum (mums) and Daisies. You may want to do a little more research for more if this list isn't enough.
Opening the windows on a great day isn't a bad idea either. I do that sometimes, even though I have air conditioning and a seperate clean air machine that is constantly on high. I am very passionate about my help and I will do wahtever I can to improve it. I just think this is an inexpensive way to go about.
Talk to the home centers garden assistants; if they are knowledgable about the plants they will be helpful.
Good Luck

Ah,these are the best choice? ^_^ okay I'll look for these kinds of plants.
Isn't it nice to have a fresh air once in a while? My dad doesn't like the windows open because he said dust will enter as well. But dust could be swept when they accumulate anyway so I don't mind.LoL.
Where I am, plants are only sold in bundles so I'd get a wholesale discount which would be nice to place around the house and inexpensive. If they are bought single, they are very expensive.
I hope I'd be able to keep them alive, there are people who has green thumbs and I believe I am not one of them as a plant I had withered.
By the way, thank you again because I just designed a house for my brother and your topic made a big change in it when I added lots of plants and ventilation. Thank you very much ^__^
