Well, I used to be when I was still in high school. I wanted to get the highest grade and be on top always. I study everyday and read lessons in advance. Sometimes, people think that I no longer have social life. But now, I'm not particular with grades anymore. What matter most to be is that I learn something and that I enjoy my time learning. I don't want to pressure myself anymore. Fortunately, I still get high grades. How about you?
Share your thoughts whether you're still a student or not...:D Have a nice day mis amigos.:D

I have never been grade conscious. i rarely came out first at school. It was not something that i wanted to achieve. I was the playfull pupil that liked going to school to have friends. but i was not naughty, i did pass and even got distinction. Then i went abroad to university. It was a great experience. I started learning on my own, no more spoonfeeding. I spent a lot of time in the library doing researches only because i found things interesting. I wanted to learn and master my subject. I came out first in some modules. It felt great.
I never feel the need to compete against my friends. I think that you should try to improve yourself. Enjoy what you are learning.

I have seen my brother achieve so much and the pressure that comes along with it. NOt to mention the envious people, or those who read him wrongly, calls him arrogant, full of himself. That was painful and I guess subconsciously I told myself not to be in that same spot where people look up to you, or sharks waiting to devour you.
I did my part, studied well, but I never pushed myself to do much greater than I could manage. I just wanted to blend in, to go with the flow, immerse myself in simple joys. Besides, my parents respected our uniqueness. There was never a time that they compared us to each other.

i uesd to be when i was in school, i thought i will not get a job if i dont score well. Now i relaise that in this world if you have the knowledge and a good sence of speech you can conquer the world. I never got high marks or good grades, but i had always been an avergae person. But i worked on my talents and now i have been achieving what i want from it.

Well I am a healthily competitive student but I still maintain a social life and participate at myLot. But I've never been embarrassed about my grades because as long as my school gave me grades, I had really high grades so I was never embarrassed, but I never bragged or showed off.

I want to get high grades to impress my parents, and for people to respect me, but unfortunately I'm just about average. My GPA is 75%. Not bad, but not good. I care about my my grades to a certain extent. I will not give up my social life to get a good mark. If there was a situation where I was invited to the party of the year, or I could stay home and study for a huge exam I had the next day, I'd choose the party. I'm still in highschool and I think I'll take college a lot more seriously though. For now I just want to enjoy my life. I'm quite happy with my semi-good grades and my good social life.

Most of my life I have had to deal with dyslexia (trouble reading words and letters), because of this I had to study much harder than the average student. I was and am very grade conscious because of this.
When I had my own family, we home schooled. This taught me that learning does not just happen in the classroom. Since this time (kids are grown) I have seen me and our children love learning so very much and because of this learning takes place all the time in our house. You would probably be amazed at all the different things we read and the library is one of our favorite places to visit.
Life becomes wonderful when learning is so much a part of our every waking moment. There is so much to share that it opens up a whole area of social abilities that were never available before.
