Hi somewhen, I'm also a greenhand and from China like you.I created my Mylot account just some days ago.I'm studying to find what I can do here.I want to improve my english. Maybe at first I suggest you scan some of others' discussion and try to learn some useful expressions .Then your english will be influent.Good luck~

just try to read as many article as you can, if you not understand what the meaning of that word just try to open your dictionary. this way you can get more vocabulary and of course it's best solution to improve your english.

I was born in the US and I still didn't have a decent grasp of English at 17 years old (490/800 verbal in my SAT's - if it wasn't for my 710/800 mathematical I would never have gone to college). I improved myself by reading and then trying my hand at writing for fun and letting others critique it. I chose the Fanfic arena (writing using already established characters from books or TV) because it has a base already willing to read your work and give you tips. You could start by replying to posts with your comments in your own words and leaving a 'feel free to correct my English in your rebuttal' at the bottom of each. That way you can participate in the conversation AND get corrected at the same time (be sure to read the correction and learn from them)

Welcome to mylot somewhen. There is no shortcut to be proficient in any language. You should use the language frequently to gain confidence. I am sure your joining mylot is a good start to learn English further.

try using ms word when writing or before posting it could correct your grammar. watch English movies listen to them and the most try to read a lot of English magazines or surf the internet. if you could afford hire an English tutor to teach you.

The only thing that would help you to get your English better is to use it. You are already at the right place here in myLot. All you need to do next is to participate in the discussions. hello there! you are always welcome here.i can see most chinese people who are here who is like you asking for help.first go to FAQ's and to help you get started then participate in discussions.it's okay if you have poor english here,as long as we can understand you/each other well. i myself am not that good in english,but with help of mylot i can somehow improve it. yes,you can have fun here and gain friends which will help you get through.

Welcome to myLot! I'm Chinese too, and my English isn't good either. But don't worry, here are many nice friends, they won't laugh at us because of this. well i think for mylot you dont need yo have a very good english. make sentences which people can understand to reply your posts. and read their replies make new friends and all you need to do is post comments keep on doing them and you wont when your english will start to improve. And after some time your english will become really good.

Be here couple of times each day and respond to some discussion may help you to improve ur english. But if you want to achieve a quick result, here obiously is not a option. Planned study may is necessary. Well do not give up, everything will turn out fine. Just do it :) PS: I'm from Shanghai. And you?

read more english words and be familiarized with it... you will learn more words even if you are not on an english school... just make friends and ask the meaning of the words that you don't know.. regards

As you are a member of this community you'll gradually start to learn English...Learning English is not a tough job as you don't have to be a professional literal or don't need to know English like novelists. What you need is to learn to express you thoughts is a adequate manner to that others can realize and understand what actually you are trying to tell us.
