Mylot a different version of 4chan?

I was crusing mylot when the idea came into my head that mylot in a lot of ways is like 4chan. (Okay I realize for you few that may even know what I am talking about) you are all most likely shaking your heads no or yelling at your PC's right now. I am saying that mylot is like 4chan in that it is the sharing of ideas. Mind you less dark and well you all know and if you don't know don't go to the site just look at wikipedia or some news website and you can get a pretty good image of what it involves. Personally I like the Urban Dictionary version of what 4chan is.
So is mylot a more controlled and safer environment for the exchange of information and ideas?
I think it is and well we get a small incentive to exchange our ideas.

You have it all wrong, my friend. See, there are major differences. It's not just the maturity (Dark themes) of the content that gets posted on 4chan in comparison to myLot, it's also the principle that the sites were founded upon.
See, myLot is meant to be a community for discussion, and meets that goal quite well. You can find discussions on almost anything (Though many are very old), and can be quite entertained speaking about almost any subject.
4chan, on the other hand, is an imageboard. It's a site meant for sharing images. You can not even post a new thread without including an image. It's impossible. There's plenty of discussion, there, sure, but that's not the main feature of the site.
I think that they are extremely different, and should not be compared, but that's just my opinion. Everyone is entitled to one of those. Well, not on 4chan, but on most of the internet.

I have to agree with you. But we do get incentives posting in Mylot but not in 4chan. If they paid us posting things in 4chan, it would be great though. haha.
4chan is more volatile though and not safe for work.

Yeah I would not be viewing anything on or that came from 4chan at work.

That's a great comparison and I've been comparing it to Yahoo Answers but 4chan is even more similar. They both involve idea sharing and conversations but myLot is a lot more civil and you never see people insulting or spamming here. Also the payment option also makes a difference.
