A man in Texas had just finished mowing his grass when his girlfriend came out to bring him a glass of iced tea and found him face down on the ground. She turned him over and called 911. He was having a heart attack! Lucky thing she was there and came out just in time or things might have turned out very differently for the couple! See guys, having a girlfriend can save your life! Just think what would have happened to this guy if the girlfriend had not come looking for him!

Let me be the first to say you know how to pick the topics. LOL I guess everyone needs someone regardless of who it is. Being isolated can have some serious consequences such as needing help and not having any. Of course, this guy was lucky he found love. This person obviously loved him to be bringing tea out to him. Guess if she would have been doing something else he may not have survived. If the girl was mowing would he have brought her tea? LOL

What is your situation now? Just kidding. I know he is around. I agree that everyone should have someone even if it is as a friend.

If she had been mowing the grass he should have brought her the world on a silver platter, lol! But seriously... everyone should have someone who loves them nearby...

I saw this and I was impressed. It's such a sweet story. She didn't panic, which I know I would be doing in her situation, and she saved his life. She was even surprised she got a medal for her bravery. Now all we need is to here more of these kinds of stories, where love prospers and not hate and war.

Anybody really, man and woman alike need someone in their lives they can trust, who can be there when there most needed. I think this story hit the news so much because it was a girlfriend, had it been his sister it may not have hit so hard. People expect family to help, girlfriends are expected to help too, but well they don't always...

Yep. Some people don't even have family for support.

That's what I'm saying! This guy was really lucky she was there at the time but it really speaks to me about how it's important to have people in your life who you are connected to who can be around to happen upon you at moments like this. It could have been a sister or a neighbor who found him instead of a girlfriend. The important thing is that he had a relationship with SOMEONE who was able to be there and find him. So many men are so busy avoiding intimacy and let's face it, they don't pay attention to symptoms and go to the doctor the way they should...

hi cane. u are right that the guy was lucky for his gf but u cant say that she is only one who can save his life. i mean if a friend saw the same condition then he would be rush for it. so its not the matter that girl friends always save our lives. there are too more instances of gf who has ruined a guy's life. perhaps i would be....

I can say she was the only one who is responsible for him not dying alone somewhere in the back yard where he may not have been found for days. Most adults live solitary lives away from family and privately even with neighbors. Even a gf who is a royal b*tch would probably call 911 if her guy was having a heart attack. There are a lot of lonely people in the world who die alone. There are a lot of people busy being independent and trying to prove they are just fine alone. How many days do you think it would take before someone would miss one of these people?

Hello! Well, that guy was indeed very lucky because his girlfriend came when he needs her the most. Being in a relationship and staying on it is a case to case basis. Sometimes, lovers really stick with each other out of love and respect. Others simply couldn't make it together because of incompatibility, falling out of love or many other reasons. In this case, its just so lucky for the guy to have someone who helped him and it so happened that it is his girlfriend who's there for jim at the moment. I must say that having someone to love is a great feeling and its really an inspiration if you have somebody special to be with all the days of your life. Happy week end!

He was very lucky indeed! Timing is everything when something like this occurs. Can you imagine what might have happened if she had been indoors watching tv or doing something in the kitchen waiting for him to come back in?

well i think having a girlfriend cant just save your life if u have some one else with you even your sister or mother he would have also done the same thing and saves your life ! well in my opinion you just need some one to be with you!

The point was it was his girlfriend and since for most people it is more likely that a partner will be the one around most of the time and not a family member he was lucky he had one.

Probably his wife would have found him. But seriously, of course it's important to have somebody in your life, be it a boyfriend/girlfriend, spouse, network of good friends, whatever. Isolation can not only cause depression and other problems, but as this story shows, it could be deadly.

Pfffffffffft! Thanks for that laugh! You are absolutely right about the effects of isolation! People close themselves off from so much when they live that way.

Not every one was as lucky as this guy. it's not for every one to have a girl friend, some are just meant to be alone, or just not ready to have one at all. sadly, their story is opposite of what's happening with other people. well, he got lucky that he had a girl with him on that time.

He was very lucky indeed. No one should have to be alone and helpless at a time like that. It's a good thing she was not at work or out shopping or something.

Hi Canellita I don't think that a girl friend would save her boy friend's life because whatever you said is just a conincidence and it is not necessary that the same thing should happen every time. It is my personal opinion and you can even think that if some one else used to be there he/she might have saved his life.

There is nothing coincidental about it. She was there because of their relationship and he is lucky to be alive.

it's not always the case. even without a girl a boy can survive. proof are the many bachelors living happily out there. i do have a boost of energy while thinking of my crush. she's surrounded by fear or trust issues so i am off limits to her not to mention the long distance.

If you're alone and something happens to you it is possible you can survive, but if you can't get to the phone and no one can come to help you then it's likely you will die.

Well, the story you tell may be a conincidence. But I do agree that having a girlfriend can save one's life. Two months ago there happened a moving incident in my hometown. A pair of lovers were going across the road when a truck ran towards them. The girl pushed his boy friend away immediately at the moment and she was hit badly by the truck. The boy was safe at last but may be in deep sorrow all his life.

it only proves that we all need to find our other half. be'coz we can't live alone. and life won't be meaning without our other half.

Exactly. So many people isolate themselves, male and female, and you just never know what will happen.

Yup that is indeed a benefit of having a girlfriend. But i think one would need just a friend who could watch over you. It could even be any relative of ours in that situation. Maybe mom, dad, brother, sister anyone. Yup but i do wish to thank the girl for saving a man's life. The most important thing here is the thought that she had to come and serve iced tea for her boyfriend. That was the thought which actually saved him i believe.

Well, anyone with whom you have a close relationship who is a part of your life enough to be around at the right moment can be the one to save you when needed. It just so happened that this guy was helped by his girlfriend.
