In recent months, frequent gas explosions. Many died because of this incident. Many people, especially housewives who fear and trauma of using gas. I sometimes also feel worried when cooking or when it will change their gas. Are you afraid to use the gas? Is there a plan to not use gas anymore? Or you have a safe way to use gas, so as not to explode?

In our country it is seldom happen. Because we have this "safety device" that we put on our LPG Gas tank. We had a product demo first on whatever factors gas tank would explode, and it was being prevented by this device. Maybe that is one reason why we seldom have gas explosion in our household. Do you have safety device installed in your gas tank? If you don't have it, well, it is obvious there would be a big business coming in at your place...
Thanks...

I am wondering whetehr you bought the gas from a reliable dealer and whehter it has the safety regulations met. Becuase gas, to me, is one of the most cheapest and cleaniest form of energy for household use. In my coutnry we have not heard any news in many years of destrcution becuase of the use of gas. In fact, my country, Papua New Guinea is going to develop a 14 Billion US dollar LNG gas for the next for 30 years and safety is the most important issue discussed at the moment here. Right now gas is pumped out of the land and burnt 24 hours as to avoid wild fire from excess under the ground. We as consumers need to be careful of where we buy gas, see their safety standards and at homes make sure we also keep safety in order. Gas is so ganderous to just play around or ignore the saftey measures of using it.

I join the ranks of fearful woman. I hate gas! Have had some very scarey incidents with gas when I was younger. I won't use it or rent a place that has it. People cut the lines when moving and building and it causes all kinds of problems. It is dangerous if not handled with expertise and knowledge.

Hello indahfth!
I understand how you feel because my mom is very cautious and very paranoid about using tanks in cooking. Just like you she doesn't feel safe about it. All the things that we use when cooking are all electric. Good thing she works in the electric company and she has a discount or else our bills would surely go fly high!

With so many incidents of explosion, I sometimes worry about the usage of gas stove. But currently there is no other choice, no one sells kerosene in my neighborhood anymore. Electric stove can be considered as a substitute for gas stove, but the bill for the cost of electricity usage will be more expensive later on, besides the price of the electric stove is also expensive. The best thing to do is install a security clamp attached to the regulator so it will be stable on the gas tube, as many sources of leaks that caused the explosion is because the regulator is unstable.

Hi indahfth~ I also have gas for cooking. I have never been too
happy about having gas either. It is relatively safe, I hope
because I am always checking the stove and oven, but I don't
really like the idea. I just pray that everything is ok and will
remain that way. If I think that there is anything wrong I would
call emergency immediately!

We have a stove, a heater and a barbecue in our house that all operate with gas. In Australia everyone is instructed to use gas safely and fortunately we do not have a high number of accidents. We have the option of our gas company checking that all connections are safe at no cost which is really good because we pay enough for the gas although it is certainly cheaper than electricity. Do you have anyone where you live that can check all your gas appliances? It is a concern to have to live with worrying about a possible explosion!

dear indahfth,
i buy a cylinder tank of lpg about 11 kg or 12 kg every two months. i make sure that the cylinder is not rusty when delivered to me or i will not accept the same. also i check the rubber tube/hose attached to the cylinder. if i detect something wrong like there is a gas leak (it can be smelled, i tell you) i open the windows and not use the stove. always i call a handy man because i dont know much about those things. just to be safe.
have a nice day.

We are in transition in using gas. Most of us don't understand safety precaution in using gas. Most the incident is caused by human error due to less understanding about using gas. It's just like the electric. Electric is dangerous thing but it's so useful. If we know how to use it safely, then it couldn't harm you. So, make sure you know how to treat the gas, then it will be fine.
It's doesn't mean that I don't worry about gas explosion. In my family, only me know how to treat the gas while others don't know much about it. They just passive user. Whenever change the tube, I will always do it. I worried if the accident will be occur when I am not at home. Just pray to the God to avoid the accident.

I also use LPG for cooking. We cook outside the house to be a little safer. Sometimes I get scared that maybe there's a leak that I'm not aware of and it catches fire. That's why I keep on checking the hose and thed gasket for leaks. Also, make sure it is switched off when not in use. We make it a point to check it before going to bed. Keep safe, friend!

I also feel worried when using gas. I fear that the incident happened to me the gas exploded. I now keep alert to check the condition of the stove, hose, regulator and gas cylinder before using gas. I also brought my stove to heat my garage so good condition. Although I have been doing it all, fear can not be lost. I still always worry when using gas. Hopefully the bad events do not happen to me.

LPG was created with an additional substances smell, so can be detected early if there is leakage. If you can't hear any suspicious sound of leak, then the easy way to ensure LPG leak is detected the smell by squatting. Why? Because only a few people in our country who have knowledge that LPG is a substance that has a specific gravity which is heavier than air (oxygen/O2). The smell of LP will be felt strong as high as approximately 70cm above the ground.

hi indahfth WE have very few gas explosiongs here in The USA as
we have safe guards on our stoves and on the gas lines going
into our homes. You must use that in the tanks and you must follow all
the instructions and safe quards on it too. I was never afraid to
use the natural gas that is piped in as it has safe quards on it,

Very sad to hear about the many domestic gas explosions from sctv and rcti. These are things which the local authorities could look into.... Wish you and your family and everyone around is safe. Just take care!
Here where I live it's pretty safe to use them. We thank God, the Almighty for all these blessings.

Here, it is illegal to have a gas bottle inside the house. It must be placed outside in a safe area and the gas piped inside by solid gas tubing and installed to a wall outlet by a qualified installer. This makes the using of gas much safer.
