I have lost 29 lbs in the last eight months WITHOUT extra exercise and my old jeans finally fit me again. And the great thing is that I didn't have to increase my exercise levels at all (since I already walk around 3 miles per day just taking my daughter to and from school). It feels so good to achieve this milestone
That's two sizes I've managed to drop now.
And how did I do it?
Well, mainly by cutting back on my carbohydrate intake.
I halved the serve of rice, pasta or potato that I have with dinner and switched to high fiber options (i.e. brown bread, brown rice and wholemeal pasta instead of the white varieties)... this makes them harder to digest and burns extra calories in the digestion process.
Instead of having a sandwich for lunch I'll have those thin rice cakes with a little light cream cheese with some tuna, salmon or sardines (great for cholesterol levels which have also dropped from 7.2 down to 3.7)
I've also noticed something interesting, if I eat breakfast within an hour of getting up my calorie consumption for the day is lower than it would be if I skipped breakfast... weird huh? I think it's because if I skip breakfast I get REALLY hungry a couple of hours later and eat the wrong things because my BSL (blood sugar levels) are dropping so I crave sweet, high energy foods like donuts, chocolate, sweets, cakes etc. I also tend to eat more for lunch if I skip breakfast. In terms of calories, if I have 120 calories for breakfast and 70 calories for morning tea (piece of fruit or whatever) then I'm content with about 300 calories at lunch. If I skip breakfast and have 70 calories for morning tea I generally end up consuming about 600 calories at lunch... so 670 calories compared to 490 calories for the same period if I eat breakfast.
So if you need to lose weight... three tips
1)ALWAYS eat breakfast
2)Cut back your carbohydrate intake.
3)Substitute high fiber options for low

Wow, that's great. Thank you for sharing tips for losing weight easily.
I find it hard to lose weight since I'm busy at school. I think all the stress and projects make me eat unhealthy food that I've been gaining weight these past months.
I'll try your tips knowing that it's proven ^_^ Thank you very much.

Make sure you take a packed lunch and plenty of fruit to school with you. Ultimately, you need to eat every two to three hours to maintain your metabolism at peak rate but you need to make sure you're eating the right types of food in order to meet nutritional needs without consuming excess calories
Oh, and if you drink soda/soft drinks, make sure you have the diet options as one can of soda (375ml/12floz) contains as much as 160 calories... Imagine drinking three or four of those per day... that's 480-640 extra calories per day, and empty calories at that (in the sense that they have no nutritional value and don't satisfy hunger).
Just keep in mind that what works for one person may not work for another. But I think cutting back on carbs is one of the more effective ways. Just don't cut them back too much or you may suffer from dizziness and fainting.

Ah, I love drinking soft drinks and I drink around two cans a day. Maybe I should avoid that now. I didn't knew that they don't have any nutrition and won't satisfy me at all. My classes are straight six hours until nine in the evening so maybe that's one reason I lose my metabolism.
Thank you for your kind comment. I'll still hope that your method works for me too because I am becoming overweight. I have a petite frame so if I become fat I'll look like a teapot. I don't worry about fainting after cutting the portion of what I eat, I haven't felt dizzy at school. Thanks again ^_^

Thanks Lexx :) I'm very proud of the achievement (as you can tell)
I did get up to a size 18 (UK sizes) am back to a 14 now (barely) but would like to get down to a 12 which was the size I was before having children. Most of the weight was gained two years ago when I quit smoking... I slapped on 45 lbs because I swapped th hand to mouth habit of smoking with the hand to mouth habit of eating. Unfortunately, it was usually the wrong types of foods like sweets and chocolates.
Now I seriously need to introduce some weight and resistance training. My upper body gets plenty of weight training since I'm a checkout operator in a grocery store lifting hundreds (if not thousands) of grocery bags and items per day weighing up to 20 lbs each so my biceps, triceps, deltoid and trapezius muscles are VERY well toned.
The problem is (and always has been) my stomach, hips and thighs. I was considering investing in one of those 'ab circle pro' machines as that would address the specific areas that need toning, the abs in the swing motion and the thighs and buttocks when you remove the pin. That should get some muscle in those areas.
Of course, once I start building muscle my weight loss will slow since muscles weigh more than fat does... but my body will shrink even more rapidly since the metabolic rate of muscle is much higher and will burn the fat faster plus muscle takes less space than fat does. Ultimately, I'd like to get down to 140 lbs, I'm currently 180 lbs and 5'6" tall
