Comprehensive exam OR research proposal should I take??

Hey guys...
well, I'm wondering which one should I take? should I register for the comprehensive exam [taking exams in all the related courses within 2 days] or should I go for the research [that could even take more than 2 semesters]
so, what do you think? have you taken any of them? please advise me as I need to make the decision this coming Monday 
I know the related pros and cons for each but I need the opinions of those who have already experienced such a situation!

Well if you want to get it done and over with and you have studied, I would take the exam. If you want time to work on it and get a really good grade and have time to spare, I would take the exam. But I like to just get things done and over with!

If I were in your position, I would take up the comprehensive exam. I do not want to prolong my agony. Plus, you just need to diligently study all the materials available unlike in research that sometimes requires you to produce your own resources. Good luck! I hope you get to choose the best option. :D

I am thinking about that too but I feel it is a bit scary to sit for all the taken courses within 2 days!! I'm a bit worried as we usually sit for one subject each. but with the comprehensive; we have to sit for all the subjects in 2 days!! I'm really scared

well i dont know about the education system there..but looking at the options, its highly dependant on you. if u have any financial constraints and is required to work immediately then comprehensive will do..if not i would take up research. again only if you are passionate for the subject.
ps: if you are in so much of confusion, we shall exchange our institutiuons.i love research....(remember we did this in one of your discussions)

awh i wish if we could exchange as i'm passing through a very hard time... i consulted my lecturers and they said it all depends on how hard I study while my friends and classmates have mostly discouraged me as being scary
so, i'm really confused..if i take the exams; my CGPA would be affected and this is wot i want, but with research nothing would be as it doesn't have a grade.. i feel I really need to increase my grade but i'm scared as the exams would cover all the subjects within 2 days
