A couple of days agoI was telling a friend about what had helped me some years ago to spend less. I told her that I wrote down every single penny I spent and made items to see where I spent most. It sure helped. She answered: Why don´t you write doen everything you eat and the approximate amount? It might help you with those extra kilos. I´ve been thinking about it and think it´s a good idea. What do you think, friends? Do you think ot might help me? Share your views about this. I´m ready to buy a BIG notebook

It helped me when I lost weight. I had a daily calorie limit and I kept track of everything. On Saturdays I allowed myself a treat for good behavior. Took me about 6 months to take off 30 lbs, and I kept them off until I had children.

I´d be happy losing 15 pounds although I do need to lose more. I liked the good behaviour treat.

Hmmm... it seems like a good idea on cutting daily calories intake. Maybe I should also try this myself some time. Making a detailed record of what we eat and its approximate amount, we can closely monitor our eating habits and from there, we can make the necessary adjustments or changes. Well, good luck to us, marguicha! :-) Yes, I need to lose some weight myself. If there is one disadvantage for me about working online, it is gaining weight. :-) So, again, good luck to us.

I think that at the beginning it would cause me to feel guilty and that might help me stop the "little" snacks.

I think it is a great idea. I try to write down everything I eat to see where I can save the most money. Money has been so tight lately that we are practically choking. I have always believed in writing everything down and keeping track of things.

I found out (during one of my tight periods) that at the super you spend a lot on things that are not necessary at all. Do check a bit on cleaning products. Instead of paper towels I use old rags for most of their needs. I only use the said paper towels to dry beefsteaks or parsley when cooking. I learned that brown shoe paste was better and cheaper than furniture cleaners. And there are lots more tips. Keeping track helps. Take care!

Yes, go ahead do that you will be content. Work will burn out your callories, If you are office worker then you need to do some routine exercise. It is also biblical if you are a christian, do not worry about tomorrow becuase tomorrow will wory about itself. We are born to die. People who worry about prolong their lives, losse their lives quickly. Enjoy every bit of time God gives you to live.

Hmm, if you just write the amount/cost of what you eat, i don't think you'll start losing weight. if you write both the cost and the number of calories, then you'll get two benefits. first, you'll find out the amount you pay for your food. second, after finding out the amount, when you do the same with calories, you can now select which ones to lessen so that you'll decrease both your calories and your expenses. hope i was able to help. :D

I think that would be too much homework for me. I was thinking od something a lot more primitive than that. Something like 9:00AM slice apple pie 9:30 AM 2 slices of bread w/butter and cheese. And so on.

Well, we are so worried about what to spend and how much to spend and how to eat etc, etc,. I Believe we are made to eat and work. Just work and eat from your labour. If you eat all fo your day'labour ok, well fair enough, go out and work hard for the day and that day can feed you.

I also got a food journal but i think it would be better to do it online. I'm a member of caloriecount and they have a tool there where you can log your activity and food intake. It helps me a lot since its a lot easier than writing it down. Nutritional info is also available on that site.
