I believe the difference is that a talent is something that someone is lucky enough to be born possessing, a natural ability to do something. A skill is something that can be learned, and improved.

Oh this one is easy.
Skills can be acquire in school or any organizations through a formal or informal training.
Talents on the other hand is something you're born with. Even you didn't undergo any formal or informal training still you're good at that particular fields.

It is quite plain hushi. Talent is latent in a person. When the talent is employed in carrying out a certain activity the person becomes skilful. Those with higher degree of talent learns skills easily and others pick the skill slowly. While skills can be picked up by practice, talents cannot be. If a talent remained dormant in a person, the same can be aroused by encouragement and proper environment, as shown by some historical evidences.

Hm, I've never really thought about this before. I've never really thought of them as having two different definitions. But if I had to pick them apart..I'd say talent is something that is something that's natural. You can practice to become more talented, but I feel like talent in music, art, etc, is sort of natural. While skills are things developed overtime and not necessarily natural. But I'm not really sure...Haha.

Well skills can be learned and earned. You can acquire a skill through practice or teaching. A skill I have for example is I speak Spanish. A talent is something you are born with, a trait that you have and if you don't have it you can't acquire it. You can discover a talent, but you can't gain one. For example, being good at school work can be a skill because you have experience doing it while being smart is a talent.

According to my own version of explanation on skill and talent. I think that skills are earned from your past experience, which you accumulate over time from the past until now. You will encounter the similar situation, and apply what you had learned from the past on the similar situation.
While for talent. It is more like a nature thing born inside of you. Like little Mozart play piano. It is more like talent. When he touch the piano, he can create music intuitively. Something create from inside, or more like a de Ja vu thing.
I hope that everyone would understand what I explained above.

for me, skill: it is something you acquired from formal education or self taught. you study it to be good at a certain craft.
talent: is something you have since birth. natural gift.
