Awkward.....

What do you think about people using the word "awkward"? It seems that lately the use of the word has been gaining popularity. Sometimes I think that it is fitting and funny when the right person says it, but when certain people use it at the wrong time, they themselves can be awkward.... What do you think?

I use that word a lot ;) usually it's more convenient for me to use Awkward than weird :D

The term is rarely used where I live. I use it sometimes when there is this eerie feeling that is not comfortable being with someone or something.
For example: I had a fight with my sister about the food proportions for our lunch box and later while I am watching Thriller Restaurant, she'll watch with me from behind and it feels so awkward to start a joke with her about the show because we recently fought.
