I have to say congratulation to my friend, and my co - worker, because he just have a new born baby girl, so cute and adorable. As a new father, he make a vow to quit smoking as a gift for his daughter. I am glad that he determine to do so, because that is what a good father should do. Actually, I admire parents who will sacrifice themselves for their children at all cost. Smoking just a slight resolution on their lifetime, they should do better.

Wow, he is one of the first person I have seen quit smoking for he's loved ones. That was a very big move to be honest. Smoking is very hard to quit. Anyway, most people I've seen smoking wouldn't even try to quit for their loved ones. It is so rare to see people actually making an effort to others. May god bless your co-worker!

I admire your friend for giving up smoking because he has a baby daughter. Passive smoking is terrible for babies and children. My friend's sister was a smoker when her first daughter was born. She used to go outside to smoke but one windy day the door slammed in her face. She had to phone her mom to borrow the spare key. She got thinking about giving up smoking. It took her almost a year to totally give up smoking. I think that is isn't healthy for an adult to smoke around children. When having a baby a parent does well to sacrifice something they really like doing.

Hi, kingparker. I am glad to hear about this! This is truly amazing! Any parent that can give up smoking is a strong and loving parent. It is never wise to smoke around a newborn. It could lead up to major problems such as an ear infection. Your friend did the right thing!

As far as i know it is quite hard for a person to quit smoking and my father is an example. It is a piece of good news that your friend can quit smoking for his baby. Because it not only benefits your friend himself but also does good to his baby girl. What your friend did for his baby girl makes me believe that in the world your parents loves you much more than anyone else and they ask nothing for reture.

Hi, Congratulation to your friend for being a new dad. and also for his determination to quit smoking for his loved one. He is definitely doing a great job and a good daddy for his family. I don't think all fathers are willing to quit smoking because of their children and your friend is amazing,he did it !! I believe his wife must be very happy on what he did and they will have a happy family always.

Wow! That was so sweet of him. It made me remember my father who used to be a smoker. When I reached the age of 16 and graduated in High School he asked me what gift I want. I told him just stop smoking and minimize your drinking sessions with your office mates. I never thought he would totally give up smoking and drinking for me but he did.

That is indeed admirable! Smokers have a hard time giving it up but if you really have something important to support the decision, it becomes easier to do. A lot of people are saying that it's hard to quit on a habit. Actually, what they lack is the reason to support the quit. Everything is possible as long as you are determined to make it happen.

Congratulations to your friend, too! Both for having a healthy baby girl and for quitting smoking! It is good that he is thinking of the welfare of his daughter and not about what he wants for himself. It's wonderful to know that he wants the best for his daughter and would do anything to give her that. It will be so good for his own health, too. He would need a lot of strength and determination to keep off the habit. Good luck to your friend! And of course, to you too kingparker! Welcoe to the world baby girl!

I had a friend who used to smok a lot. She also used tyo smoke and drink when she was pregnant. She looked so happy when she was pregnant, but she had a miscarriage bcos of this habit of hers and she has not changed still. She does smoke and drink. I dont understand what the youth think when they do such things.

Tell your friend that he has taken the wise decision in his life as he has understood the bad effect of smoking. As parent he has the feeling towards his child. Good example for other people he has given. Keep it up.

I don't know many people that would do that. Many guys that I know are like I won't smoke around them. My ex boyfriend has a daughter and his truckk smelt so bad like smoke that I couldn't even deal with it. I can imagine what that did to his 2 yr old daughter

Congratulations to your friend for his wise decisison.Quit smoking is one of the most difficult decision to make by smokers. They have to have a very strong will & determination not to start again.I found that many of my friends started smoking back after a few months.Hopefully, those smokers who have children at home should think about quiting.Sometimes we have to sacrifice our interest for the benefit of all.
