Vitamin D can be taken from milk with it and exposure from the sun. How would a person know how much exposure of sunlight is needed? Does it differ with the amount of melanin in your skin? What are the variables that might affect our Vitamin D consumption? Does sunblock affect it too?

I use a sunblock lotion for moisture. That means I need more sun exposure.

It is superior to be cautious concerning the d vitamin ingestion and try to get the suggested every day dose. Fortunately the following vitamin can be gathered right from food items or by means of dietary supplements. Even so, there is yet another outstanding supply of vitamin d. It is possible to have this vitamin when you uncover to sun light daily for ten to fifteen minutes and that is the cause why it's named “the sunshine vitamin".

I just had my thyroid taken out and my doctor told me my vitamin was extremely low. Now i take it every day. He said most people with thyroid problems have to take a supplement for vitamin D.

I recently became a mom and the first time that I saw my son's pedia, she stressed out that I should take my baby out every morning in between 6am to 8am for Vitamin D to be absorbed by my baby's body.
She also said that as much as possible, the baby should be naked to take advantage of the sun's morning heat. Because of this, I suppose that the healthiest hours for us to go out for the sun's Vitamin D should be from 6-8am as well.
By the way, I am also wondering how much of Vitamin D is needed by the human body and how is it measured.
I have watched one health television show about sunblocks and sunscreens. They said that a sunblock reflects and scatters the rays from the skin, acting as a wall between the sun and the skin, while the sunscreen absorbs certain range of uv light and reflects the rays. Therefore, the sunblock i believe, is more effective in preventing sunburn and skin cancer.
