My cat is always begging me for my banana peels as though he wants them and I'm not quite sure if its safe to give him banana peel, or a peace of banana. most of the time my cat never begs for human food he dosent even like table scraps but whenever I get some fruit out he will beg and beg me for it.
Do cats even eat fruit better yet is it safe to give them fruit?
Why is my cat begging for bananas?

My cat rarely ever begs for human food because he only like his cat food most of the time, but every-time I get a banana he tries to reach and get it from my hand, I dont understand why but he seems really interested in bananas in particular.

Of course when my cat beg to me I give that thing what I eat, but he only smell It and then run something. Maybe he only want to play with banana? Just give to he little part of It and then you can see what happens. I want to know the results. Take care, Have a nice day!

My cat Daisy hates the smell of oranges and lemons and might sniff at other fruits I eat like grapes or strawberries but backs off and goes to look out a window or something! the only way she'll eat fruit is if it's in the healthy life dry food I feed her, lots of cats are finicky that way lol!
I'm not aware of fruit being harmful to cats, I guess yours just has different taste buds.

Please dont't allow your cat eat banana peels,it is much wiser to give him a piece of the banana its self if its ripe that is. It will not cause any harm to her/she for it supplies them also with the same nutruiets and vitamins that it offers to us and that also goes for fruits in general.

Yes you can feed fruits to your cat, but only a small amount. That too only selected fruits, cause some might cause digestive problems. Consult a doctor about the type and amount of fruits you can feed him.

I've had cats go nutz for the craziest stuff. I had one that loved cantaloupe, he'd even eat a little watermelon, but not as much as he liked cantaloupe...
Some cats just seem to have a taste for things that aren't normally food - haven't heard that bananas are bad for cats, but the peels might not be the best idea...
Now, onions, those are bad for cats, and chocolate, no sharing your onions or chocolate, even food cooked with onions can be a problem - don't do it for a dog either...

Interesting question. My cat does the same. When I take something in my hand for eating (it doesn't matter what it's), and I begin to eat, the cat begins to beg and to turn around me. What I know about the cats is that it's bad to give chocolate to the cats. However, the cats don't eat fruits, don't worry. It begs, but if you give the peel it will smell that and then will just walk away. I got to the deduction that the cat wants to eat what we eat, but then it realizes that this is not its preferred food, and also the cat wants our attention. You should give the peel or some other fruit to check that the cat won't eat it, but don't give chocolate.
That's it. Have a nice day. :)

I have never heard of a cat that liked fruit before, but I see that some cat foods include vegetables along with meat and fish. Cats sometimes also eat grass, it helps them to get rid of hairballs. I don't think the fruit would hurt the cat. You might try giving him a small piece and see if he likes it. If he craves something, there may be some nutrient in it he needs.
