In your country, is there are still isolated tribes?

Korowai tribe - Korowai tribe has a custom built house on a tree with a height of more than 40 meters, even up to 80 meters. Amazing!

Human Tree At first, I think, in Indonesia there are no indigenous tribes who lived and settled on top the tree. It turns out I was wrong, this morning I read the news about the Korowai tribe, which is isolated tribes in Papua. Korowai tribe has a custom built house on a tree with a height of more than 40 meters, even up to 80 meters. Amazing! and more amazing, the way they really live like a human pre-history. for example, when they make a fire. Yes, to make fire, they swipe-grit rattan rope with wooden sticks on top of dry sago leaf midrib stems. In your country, is there are still isolated tribes?

hi advokatku thats really interesting. we have seen movies with such things but this is really and much more interesting to me. And that is really quite tall for houses made in trees.Amazing indeed and they still make fire the way they did back way way back there. Herein the United States I do not think any thing new has been found now. We are still in comparison with other countries quite new only a few hundred years old.So no isolated tribes.

yes, in some tribes of Indonesia is still there a few isolated tribes. This does not mean the Government of Indonesia does not care about them but this is because of their own who still cling to ancestral lands. If you want to feel back to prehistoric life, probably the Papua island could be destination your holiday

Dear friend, There are tribes but they are not totally isolated, they do interact with public at times. But some of the members in some interior of forest in our place in India are isolated. But many measures and programmes are going on to upheld these tribes. Still some of members in these hestitate to come out. But there are also people in higher positions in Indian parliaments from tribal groups.

As far as I know the answer is no. The government has been making efforts to integrate them with the mainstream society. They have their own villages. Some of them can use a computer, and several habe attained a high level position. I do not deny that there a indigenous individuals who prefer the old ways but not to the extent of being isolated, and living on tree tos.

Not isolated that I know of. There are pieces of land that are designated as reservations for the Native American Indians. There is also a religious group or two that isolate themselves from society and doesn't use electricity or transportation other that horses and buggies. They also refuse medicine. No where near the type of tribe that you are talking about though. I think it is amazing that there are still people that are isolated.

my husband's job is to reach out the unreached tribes in our country. he visits them twice a month on his motorcycle. he needs to travel for about an hour before reaching them. the are not as primitive as we might think but they do not have idea of what is going on outside their tribe so my husband tells them what government is doing and all. as far as they know, government is what the head of their family say. my husband teaches them the word of God while I try to make efforts to encourage friends to send in their help for the people; this way, they will know that there are people outside their place that think of them as people too.

It is very good job what your husband is doing. I am very happy to hear that there are people who still help other people and to his tribes. You need be very proud of this. They certainly are excited to learn new things and know and famillar all. Good luck to your husband. Take care, Have a nice day!

well here in the Philippines, there are lots of tribes present... here are some of them: the BADJAO, the IGOROT, the ILONGOTS, the MANGYAN, the NEGRITO and a lot more other tribes.

Malaysia is a small country. I think they have mapped every inch of the land. So it is improbable for us to have any unknown tribes hiding in our jungles. At the rate the jungles have been bulldozed and robbed of its timber, any undiscovered tribes would have to expose themselves sooner or later!

It is very interesting article from your side. I had seen many movies about isolated tribes. Also discover movies, but articles and photos always is the best. We can see what was life before some centuries. In my place we do not have this fantastic isolated tribes. We had something similar, but not this. Thank you for this article you give me a mood to learn something other for them too. Take care, Have a nice day.

HI advokatu, i don't really want to classify the Maroons in my country as isolated tribes, but the can be, most of them are located mostly in isolated hilly areas of the country were it is very steep and cold. They soley believe in making use of their natural resources.
