Hi,
Could you please let me know the best sites for beginning article writers to earn up front money on the Internet? Which sites won't be too demanding for someone just starting out? However, I also need sites where it will not be too difficult to get articles accepted.

With e-how you have to apply and send a writing sample. I have a minor in English and they had rejected me telling me that I was not what they were looking for. I felt that I was not given a chance and also if I have a minor in English and had gotten all A's in the subject and had been published in school chap books that I would have been qualified.
I have heard that firehow is supposed to be good. I am going to give them a try. f anyone has any information about them please let me know. Thanks

www.Helium.com - I don't use it anymore, but it is a good site. It pays you to white articals for there site. I don't really like it becouse it takes to long to make the payout and to much work.

Try Factoidz.com It's not too hard to get published there, although they keep talking about improving the site. It would be a good learning experience for a beginner, I think. There are "forums" for each topic where people ask questions, so there are lots of ideas for articles, too.

Hi Peavey,
Thanks for your good idea. I'll definitely check out Factoidz. Sounds like the forum for finding out answers to questions is a plus. I like that you say they split it into different topics at the forum too. That helps to find just what you're looking for faster. A place to get ideas is a BIG plus factor too I'm sure!
A site where it isn't too hard to get published is also great for a beginner. I'm putting Factoidz near the top of my "Go See It" list! : )

Hi Tinym8, Not a writer myself but I have friends that write for Helium which I believe to be quite good for beginnings and there is also one called Associated Content but think limited to which country you are from on that one, perhaps fo a serach and also write reviews for site like Ciao. Good luck with this. Huggles. Ellie :D

Hello, Tinym, and welcome to MyLot. I'd say Helium is a good place for beginning writers, although you won't be able to earn upfront payments until you have a writing star. You also need to rate articles by other writers, to earn a ratings star which qualifies you for page view earnings.
Writing to popular channels such as health and fitness, sport, travel and personal finance can earn good sums in page views. An article I wrote a few days ago about metabolic rates has already earned over $2 in page views.
There's a mentoring programme at Helium, and beginning writers can get help with their writing. There's also a good support network there. It takes a while to become established and earn good money, but it's well worth it. Helium is the only site I write for these days, and I earn over $200 a month.

Hi Sandra,
Others have mentioned Helium and it is on my list of sites to definitely check out. It is good to hear from someone who is already established at Helium and likes it. Thank you for letting me know about some of the requirements at Helium and how to go about meeting them.
The mentoring program is something I think I would really like because I am so new to all this. It would be good to have someone to answer questions and steer me in the right direction.
I guess it will take a while to get established anywhere I start. Helium looks like a place I would really like to try and see how it goes there. Right now I'm attempting to go to each site that I know about and decide which one or two to try first. That may not be an easy decision.
Thank you very much for taking the time to put in your suggestion and sharing your knowledge about it!
