Instructions for customizing your profile

You'll have to excuse my last post. I was testing to see if the code would show up since I was having trouble with it yesterday. I meant to preview, not submit so if any admins see it, please delete it for me. Thanks! =) Ok, back to the subject at hand... I have seen several different discussions about customizing your profile but most of them have links that lead you to sites that don't work as well for firefox users. I also saw that different people had different information and there are codes all over the place so I thought it would help to have everything here, in one post, that you can come back to whenever you need help in editing your profile. First and foremost, to put an image in your background, you first need to figure out what image that will be. Then, upload it to a site such as photobucket or imageshack. Go to your mylot profile and click on "edit profile" underneath your photo. You will see in the top right hand corner "add content" click that, and then click then choose "html". This will open up an html sortie box at the bottom right of the page. Scroll down until you see it and post this code into it: body { background-image:url (YOUR URL FOR YOUR IMAGE GOES HERE); } You must delete the spaces though except the ones between style and type and between body and the { symbol. If you need help with this, just let me know. After you get your code in there, make sure you save! Also, refresh the page to make sure it took effect. OK, that takes care of your background, but then you will need to change the background colors of your boxes, unless you like how it looks. To do this, again, go to "edit profile" if you're not already there. This time, click "edit profile colors". You will then be able to change the background color as well as the text and links for each sortie box. Just hover over the top of each box until you see the word "edit" pop up. Then you can change the colors to whatever you wish. Again, make sure to save. If you want to add in other graphics, or banners or what not, you can do that as well. You can add on additional sortie boxes if you wish, to do so. I know that the main thing people always want to know is how to post banners and have them link to your sites for referrals and all that. To do this, just post the following code, again, without all the spaces: Now, you can edit the border, height, and width to whatever you want. You just have to play around with it. I just chose the values from the first banner on my page to give you an idea. Now, you can use the same coding for your graphics and photos, you just take out the first part unless you want people to link where the photo or graphic is.
