Do you experience 'Computer Burnout'?

After breakfast or lunch, I'm already sitting in front of the computer. My break would be, when I prepare my snack and then when I prepare our dinner. Then back in front of the computer again till 12 to 2am. My job basically is working online. So, the more I sit in front of the computer the more I earn. Well, recently I'm experiencing 'Computer Burnout'. It feels like I'm down and exhausted after a long day in front of the computer. I try to sleep at 12, but still I wake up late cause I feel so tired. Come to think of it, your just basically sitting the whole day and typing. So, tomorrow I'll give my self a break. Do you experience 'Computer Burnout' too?

I sometimes get that feeling when I have been working on the computer for many hours. When that happens I usually take some breaks and that helps me get new energy and inspiration. I turn on my computer when I get back from work and I work for a while, then I take some breaks where I do something else like reading a book that I enjoy or talking to my friends. A little later I return to the computer and try to get some more work done. I guess I could earn more money if I didn't take so many breaks, but the breaks help me get my enthusiam back, so they are important to me.

santosmarichris,
Other than the mundane chores, meal times and break times, there's this thing called life and that does not mean we have to be literally sitting behind that screen every available hour or ounce of your life.
Break away, take a walk and make time to smell the flowers outside. Learn not only to live but enjoy life. I just cannot believe a person like you who could literally think and type out so many things, could not come up with some personal time ideas.
Surely, you deserve better but it would not be of any use if you do not learn to claim it. You may have a burn out now and if you carry on I can assure you the knock out phase will be around the corner.
Take care and have a good break.

Isn't it overwhelming how people like us can withstand such long, long, long hours of exposure to the computer? :-) Yes, some friends really do wonder what I actually do and how I can stand sitting in front of my computer and typing everyday even till wee hours of the morning. Well, I consider that computer is my bread and butter, so I take my work seriously. Close friends find my tolerance level quite amazing but I am still a normal person, so I also experience "Computer Burnout".
Yes, give yourself a break, chris! Of course, we all deserve a break to freshen up ourselves. Any plans on your day-off? Lately, so as to avoid computer burnout, I go out to the mall once every week. I find walking for hours in a mall, be it shopping or window shopping, a very good activity and I can enjoy it even when I'm alone. :-) Oh, I really need to get away every now and then because even at times when I said I won't be working, as long as I'm home, I always end up sitting right in front of my computer.
By the way, I checked your profile and noticed that you are from Quezon City. Well, I am from Rizal. Hey, we can possibly meet up sometime in the future -- how about Computer Burnout Society? Hahaha

Yeah, I do. I have a day job, but it's IT related, so I spend all day looking in front of my desktop at the office, and when I come home, I open my netbook, and I spent another 3 to 4 hours in front of that before I sleep. During weekends though, I try to stay away from too much PC. I go out as much as I can, I read a book, watch tv, clean our apartment or something just to keep from feeling bored and opening my netbook again. Hehehe.

I guess we have the same routine everyday, I actually sit in front of my pc after we have our breakfast and after every meal of the day, the only time I'm not on it is when I prepare our 3 meals a day cause I was the one in charge cooking our food since my mom is really picky with her food and she wants freshly cooked food so I cook every meal... I noticed too that when i sleep at 11pm I would wake up at 7am or 8am and still I feel tired and need more sleep and because I need to get up by that hour I don't either have a choice to get more sleep... I hope that computer burnout would not affect our health...

A lot! My eyes especially. Sometimes I see the letters double. Oftentimes I feel dizzy. Especially when I'm staring at LCD monitors. AND especially those old humongous monitors in the past. I swear I could see the screen dancing, imagining it to be the radiation that it emits.
My laptop screen barely hurts my eyes. It's a good thing I have my own laptop now.

Hi santosmarichris,
I have had similar experience before and even now when I am too much on it I feel like not any more. Though I am not so much into online earning, still I spend a lot of time in front of computer when I am free and at home. I do have my laptop brought to my college but logging in for a long time is too less. This is only the home I feel more comfortable to go online without any outside disturbances.
Yes, too much sitting in front of te PC surely sends you cranky at times. I usually feel my eyes swollen sort of and a tiredness creeps in and feel totally burnt out.
On such event I too go for a break, say some hours or a day or two. And when feel fresh once again in the act. lol

Hi there, well that is what its called, if we sit in front of a computer for a long time, then we get computer burnout, i believe i had that situation, but i get burnout easily, 3-4 hours i so enough or too much for me. Better give yourself a rest, take some vitamins or lipovitan sleep tight, but not yet its still 11pm, 1 more hour.

Sometimes it happens to me too. Over exposure to the radiation emitted by the computer puts my defenses down. I am feeling sick and tired but I just could not rest. Sometimes I would lie down but because I got used to being online I could not sleep until I do so. I think what we need is a long weekend vacation so that we could revive our energy.

I normally come here on myLot once back from work. Part of the time I should be resting I use it to myLot. You could imagine how tired sometimes I was. The only reason I keep going is because I love myLot so much. But I do spare a thought to have a balance. So, as I was saying sometimes you feel real hard to go on and you have to stop. That's just because I was tired and not really being 'computer burnout'. To me, between the two a 'burnout' would be a more serious thing and takes time to recover from than simply being tired.

I know what you mean some times I get that but coffee helps some. Also you could lisen to some youtube video's thats what I do to cheer me self right up.Some of the youtube video's that I like are,Rock Lee: Kung Fu Fighting,Sasuke Eye of the Tiger, hinata dragonfly,Secret agent Xellos, and Slayers Devote to Disturb the Peace. Also taking small brakes to stretch your legs like a short walk help to wake you up or just splash your face with some cold water.
