ever taken a minute and thought about the danger that you put yourself in everytime you get behind the wheel of a car?no matter how careful a driver you are, your safety does not solely depend on you. the millions of other drivers have a big part to play in us reaching our destinations safely. who is to say that one of them is not sleeping behind the wheel, or is a psychotic individual. almost anyone can get a drivers license these days. what can gurantee our safety once we get behind the wheel?

I don't think about this too much, because believe it or not, worrying while you drive only increases the dangers of driving.
You need to be focused on the road, relaxed, know where you're going and how you're going to get there.
If you're constantly in a worry, how are you to focus on the road and your surroundings?

not only driving is dangerous, even being the passenger of the vehicle driven also dangerous.
as a driver, just make sure all the safety measures are done and be prepared of every condition on the road.
by that the hazard will be minimal and avoidable.
also, don't drink and drive.

I agree with you, being on the road everyday.. its just part of my prayers that my BF is kept safe. He has been in quite a few accidents, some minor and 1 major that was really a miracle he was unscathed. Sometimes no matter how careful you are, other people would be the cause of your trouble and its just them that you can't do anything about! I wish drivers would just be disciplined and would be more cautious in driving as they too affects others on the same lane, or on the same road as them.

Your correct, every driver has its on responsibility in driving safely. Every driver must think the safety of their passenger, them self and the other motorist they must drive safely and follow traffic rules and regulation. And because some drive are born hard headed and careless the government must insure that rules and regulation are implemented strictly and if necessary they can make new rules because as time passed the old rules are sometimes will not apply to the new problem. But even though that all the mention thing are implemented and done, accidents in roads will not be eradicated due to many reasons so every time that you are going out always pray to God for safety.

yeah, youre right. its very hard to be a driver cause the responsibility is on you.even how your passenger behave and how much they wanted to be safe but still it depends on a driver how he drives amg how defensive he is. and actually tomorrow i will get my road test to become a fully license driver. good luck for me.

the question is are you a defensive driver? A defensive driver must be able to keep a safe driving record, have a positive attitude on road safety, physically and mentally fit to drive and have receive a proper training before driving. If you possess all of these then theres no danger in driving and you wont be a cause of accident on road.

Yes driving can be dangerous but so can going into a store at the wrong time. Everything in life has something to do with timing and balance.
Everyday we take our lives in our hands and for the grace of God we are sparred so I have alot to believe in providence.
Why is it that we live out of a store 30 seconds before a robber comes in and kills everyone?
Why does lightning strike right next to you hit a tree and the tree falls on the family next door? Why do the car run that particular light at that particular time to hit the car it hits and misses all the rest?
Everything can not make sense to us our job is to live and survive.

I don't really think of the dangers of driving unless I see someone driving particularly dangerously, for example a car today was driving right behind me (not a safe distance away) and then he overtook me and started accelerating to only break harshly a moment later and dodging between lanes.
If we all though of the dangers of everything that we did then we would do nothing out of fear, or alternatively the "thrill seekers" would walk to the end of their street and find adrenaline in the fact they were not shot in the process or something irrational like that.

Funny you should mention this as I was thinking the other day and I was going to start a discussion about this...
See I have a wonderful live-in boyfriend he is a wonderful, caring human being. I did not know what love really was until I met this man. Anyways every time we go out anywhere for some reason it is natural instinct that he drive us there and usually in my truck. I am okay with that having car-pool for a grant portion of my life. Well anyways there isn't a day that I get into the car with him that he scares the bejeesies out of me.
Not that he is a careless driver, but he is always in a rush for no reason, then he cuts and curves really short and causes almost situations, then has the audacity to rant and rave the other person is wrong. I find myself hanging on to the door handles every other second of our trip.
I tell him oh my God, I am going to have to see a doctor soon, and he always asks why, I always reply because I think that getting into a car with you is hazardous to my health. I think I am going to need a Valium each time I get in to the car.
So how is that for my safety inside a car as a passenger....LOL

Accidents are very real and it could happen to anyone anywhere any time- under bad timing. But, if we are to focus on nothing but negative thoughts, we'll get nowhere. So, it would do us a lot better if we just do everything with care and fervent prayers. And as to driving, it'll help a lot if we stay focused and alert every time we get behind those wheels.
