Malwarebytes is a great protection program for your computer. Plus, it can be found for free on download.com (run by CNET). It runs like a full program too! I've found it to be very effective in protecting my PC.

I don't think it uses a lot of disk space... I have it on my main computer and my laptop and they both seem to run at the speed they always have -- but maybe even a little faster because Malwarebytes removed the bad stuff! And you're welcome! :)

Hats off to ESET NOD32 Antivirus! A complete protection against all those malware, spyware, Trojans, viruses, I mean you name it, ESET cleans them. You can use it for 30 days... and then the trial expires. But go to YouTube and in the video tutorials there are usernames and passwords which will allow you to have it for a year for free, and it will be upgraded to the full version.

Hello webmasterzein.... if you are a firefox user, you should go for one of its extension called WOT.This extention shows you the rating of the websites. And for suspicious websites it notifies the user that it is "it may be harmful to enter this website". One more software that i use is spy protector. It scans for the running processes of the computer to makeout that whether they are spyware or not,and if it detects any then it removes them from running and also deletes the file

I am currently using Symantec Endpoint Protection. It's a good protection against all the threats you have mentioned above. It even block malicious traffic knocking on your computer's door. But the problem with it is, it consumes a lot of memory!

I use two programs to keep my computer running smoothly. The first is "Avast" and it is a free anti-virus program that beats all the others in my opinion and I have tried some expensive ones just to delete. I am almost constantly on my computer so I also use "Tune Up Utilities" which has a lot of tools but isn't complicated and will help keep your computer running at top performance.

Hi ! I already use tune up utilities :) It really works well and frees up some space by deleting temporary files. Thanks

Of course, Linux. You can install different distributions of Linux (e.g., Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Fedora) side by side Windows. If you want to surf online, you just boot up with Linux and you practically don't have to worry about viruses and malwares. But of course, you still need to install add-ons for Firefox like NoScript and AdBlock. Anyway, since I've started using Kubuntu Linux and also Ubuntu Linux, I have not had to worry about these stuff that makes me paranoid. I only use Windows and Window-based software offline, but online, I'm always using Linux. Go Linux.

Hi ! that is a good idea when it comes to browsing. But you definitely need a security program if you need to download an .exe file or something. thanks :)

There are some software's that can protect you but remember you are not protected always by them . I think you should try some combination of softwares . I would recommend you to try : 1: Norton Antivirus and Spyware 2010. 2: Avast Antivirus + Zonealarm firewall and spyware security suite + Additional Trojan remover 6 you can try the second combination of antivirus spyware and firewall protecter's it will help you . Happy mylotting .

Ok the one antivirus I recommend over anything is Kaspersky Internet Security 2010. It is a realtime antivirus that updates about twice a day. I have not had anything get past it at all. It has maximum security features and it's not too expensive at $60-$70 for the software and a license for up to 3 PCs. You can get it just about anywhere that sells computer software too. It stops any threat that you can encounter online and offline. That's my recommendation.

I absolutely love AVG. They have been the best that I have encountered. They do have a paid version but the free has always been enough for me. At our office I help maintain about 15 computers plus a main server, all of which have AVG installed. It has caught viruses before they are even downloaded and kept our system running clean for years.
