I heard it from a radio station that sleeping too long is bad too... I think it makes you feel more tired or has this effect on the body. But I'm not really sure of the effects. But you know as what the song goes, too much of something is bad enough..:)

Hi, Sleep for 12 hours? That is a bit too long. From what I know ,every human being at least must have an enough rest for 8 hours a day. In the first place, are you working?? If you are working, I don't think you will have such long time to sleep. For me, sleep too much will make my body ache. and feel lazy and moody. So everyday, I will strict to at least sleep for 6-8 hours,it is more than enough and I definitely feel fresh after my sleep.

I think that, unless this happens over a long period of time, there is nothing to worry about. But, according to WebMD, if this is a constant thing, it could be an indication of some underlying medical problem, such as diabetis, heart problems, or depression. We have an increased need for sleep during periods of stress or illness. Chronic oversleeping can be a medical disorder, and can cause extreme sleepiness during the day and sleeping unusially long at night. Oversleeping can also cause anxiety, low energy, and memory problems.

Maybe you had some accumulated fatigue. I think it is, 8 hours is normal to sleep every night. When i sleep 10-12 hours i feel a lot tired and dizzy, than when i sleep less.

Every person has his own limit what he need to sleep - someone sleeps five hours per night and he doesn't need more, but other need eight or more hours to sleep one's fill. For me it is also twelve hours, but I can sleep much more as well...only sometimes when I have slept sixteen hours, when I wake up I feel tired. It is only negative effect which can arise after too much sleep. Of course others think that bad also is that with such a sleeping I lose many interesting things, but for me the sleep is in the first place. So every time I can, I sleep as much as I want (or as much as my body needs).
