Another Disney Dud?

Recently, Disney's The Sorcerer's Apprentice opened to less than stellar numbers. This is the second Disney film produced by Jerry Bruckheimer that has been called a dud this summer. The first one was The Prince of Perisa. I'm beginning to wonder if Bruckheimer's charm from Pirates of Caribbean and National Treasure series have dimmed. Or maybe just the recent endeavors have had too much competition. I know know. Then again, I haven't seen any of these so-called duds yet either. Have you? What do you think of his past two movies?
Do you think Bruckheimer's movies are still great or should he stick to television series?
Maybe it's Disney. I don't know.

I would never see this movie. If not for anything else, for the fact that Nicholas Cage is in the film and he's an awful actor who acts the same in every film he's in and still does it poor. Not to mention just the previews did not look like it'd be a good film. Pirates you could just tell from the previews was obviously going to be good, but this film just looked cheesy and cheap.

I'm still on the fence about the movie. It does look like it could be as cheesy as The Haunted Mansion movie was but I usually love Jerry Bruckheimer movies. And I use to like Nicholas Cage, but now my opinion on him is waning. *sigh* Oh well.

You have to see the movie for yourself jenkins. Nicolas Cage has a signature acting style that's why it seems like he acts the same way for each movie.
Well maybe he sucked in some of his movies in other people's opinions but for me, the man I saw in COn-Air and the man I saw in Sorcerer's were definitely two different personas.
My standards may be low when it comes to movies but I really don't think it was that bad.

I don't with you guys but I loved the Sorcerer's Apprentice. Just watched it yesterday and again I say that we are entitled to our own opinion. Well yeah, maybe it would qualify as cheesy and cheap in a way, but it was really a child-friendly movie, something that was truly a Disney material. Humor was light, and I did manage ta few giggles.
Well that guy who played Dave, though, seemed like an autistic whenever his crush was around. Nevertheless, I loved it in general.

Not really for best actor's awards right? But it was fun watching it, in fairness.

i just watched sorcerers apprentice, its awesome. One of Merlin's apprentices turns against him, joining forces with the evil sorcerers. His other two apprentices, Balthazar and Veronica come to the rescue, but are too late to save Merlin from being mortally wounded. Before dying, Merlin gives his remaining apprentice a dragon ring that will eventually choose the Prime Merlininan, who will become Merlin's successor and obtain his powers.

I'm glad that you loved the movie. I haven't seen it personally. I'm still gathering different people's perspective of the movie.

I haven't personally seen it, but I've heard mixed reviews. One of my friends said that it was better than he expected. I'm probably going to wait until I can watch it at home to see, but that's just me. Maybe you should still go and see it. Who knows, you might like it. If you do, tell me about it. :)

I loved the Soccer's Apprentice. It was pure action and fun from start to finish. I think the reason it didn't make much this weekend was because it opened the same week as Inception. It's just one weekend, and people really should wait and see before they make judgements.
Loved National Treasure and Pirates of the Caribbean... but hated all the sequels.

We were actually deciding between Inception and Sorcerer's Apprentice and chose the latter because we weren't exactly in the mood for something too serious, or what we thought as serious.
Sorceror's was a fun movie. Action-packed, with a dash of humor, something that a kid would like. Well, we all have inner child in all of us, don't we?

You make a very good point. With Inception opening the same weekend and Despicable Me still running high, Sorcerer's Apprentice does have a lot of competition in the box office.

I have seen previews for the Sorcer's Apprentice. I am a huge Nicholas Csge fan. I will probably see the movie only for that reason. It just didn't look like the blockbuster it was promised to be.

Well I didnt think it would do good. Adults woudnt go see this movie even though cage is in this and the movie itself looks kind of dumb. The only part that looks good is nicholas cage well his character. But this seems more like a movie rental not a movie i would want to see in the theaters.
