Three days ago I had a good cry over a chihuahua. I've never had a pet in my life. While i was browsing the net, i loved a certain chihuahua for sale at a reasonable price. she was so pretty i thought of naming her Sonia. I contacted the breeder and had a good deal. The following morning, just before i went to buy Sonia, i told my husband about her. It ended that my husband doesn't want a pet in the house for now since were both busy at work. I cried, I hated my husband for a day!

Dogs are nice pets to have but it does take time to train and care for them. I have two chihuahuas and they can be quite a handful. The female one, Daisy, is especially hard to train. She's really headstrong and doesn't want to obey. Apparently that's a common thing for female chihuahuas. The other one, Toby, is a lot easier to handle. But it definitely is hard to take care of them since everyone in the household is busy. My mom is the one who is mostly at home and she's always saying that the dogs are a handful. She always comparing it to having little kids running around the house again.

one good reason that i wanted a pet is to train ourselves being parents, i understand that having dogs is gonna be handful but i thought its gonna be a good idea to experience what parenting is since we do not have a baby yet (we were married for a year now). this whole experience have just proven that maybe we aren't really for that yet.

We have two chihuahua's here. They are adorable but they are hard to train. I can understand what your husband is saying when he doesn't want an animal there yet. Maybe once you two can start working less then you can have one, but until then I would wait. You would need time to train them, and especially be vigilant about them going outside as often as possible. For such small dogs they sure can pee a lot.

Are they that hard to train really?
yeah... the pee and the poo are just the not so adorable side of them.

I think if you have a house with a yard that will be no problem... but if not in a flat is hard to have a dog.....he will stay to much time alone....
