Why Are You Unique?

I wondered this today. What makes me so different from other people? I mean, I don't think I'm that different. Yes, I have a few quirks and bad habits, but I bet someone out there has similar traits. I'm not unique because somewhere in the world, I was born at the exact same time and date as someone else. I am not unique because there are a bunch of people out there with the same name. I'm not unique because I think there's someone out there that has the same abilities, the same interests and talents as me. So, really, I'm not quite sure what makes me unique. Can you answer this question? Why are you unique? What makes you different from other people?

You are unique as there is only one like you, the way you think, the way you feel, what you like, what you don't like, etc. No two people are exactly alike, which makes each one of unique. We have no perfect duplicate. We are each totally different, even though we may have many similarities.

No, not exactly one hundred percent alike, but pretty darn close! The key is, we're not as unique from each other as we think we are. We like to think wear to make us feel special, but really, we're not all that different from one another.

The entire aspects of my personality makes me unique...this is the way we are created by our Creator... Physically and emotionally, I am unique...I'm not endowed with talents but i believe I can do something that others cannot.

I am unique because that is how God sees me. It is easy to get into the habit of thinking we are nobody special, but to God each of us are special, and I would say that that is maybe the only true uniqueness in the world.

I was made unique. I have a different face from any other person, and thus no one in this world ever looks exactly like me. The mixtures of my characteristics and behavior is different from anybody else. I have different strengths and weaknesses from others. My strength may be someone else's weakness. A strength of mine may also be a strength of another, but we still have different levels. I may be stronger than her in this area or maybe weaker than her.

What makes you unique is the mixture of your genes, behavior and characteristics. NO one person is exactly like you, the same face, characteristics, likes and dislike etc. So no one can replace you. You are a unique you.

I am unique because God created me in a special way. I am unique because no one can be like me. No one can do the things I have done. And also, no one can be as willing as me to do the things I can for the sake of my love ones.

Let me answer your question from unalloyed biology and probability theory: Scientists said a human has about 35,000 genes on 46 chromosomes, they control about 35000 human physical traits. Let's number them G1, G2, ..., G35000. Assume that the probability of two person have the same G1 is 99.9%, have the same G2 is 99.9% too. for G3, ... G35000, the probability is also 99.9%. Then the probability of two person are precisely same is (1-0.999)^35000 = 6.2 * 10^-16. That means we need 1/(6.2*10-16) = 1,614,031,813,327,211 people to find two exactly same people. But, we only have about 7,000,000,000 people on the earth now! So we are unique!! Mmm, isn't my analysis carried conviction?

That's way to much math for me, but I did understand it. Math is definitely not my strong point. But basically, you just proved that we're not one bundled percent unique.

A mistake in calculation: (1-0.999)^35000 = 6.2 * 10^-16 should be 0.999^35000 = 6.2 * 10^-16 I'm sorry!

I am unique because of my background. Not everyone was adopted and not everyone was carried by a 14 year old, unmarried girl. Had a rough start but life turned out very well. I never knew any blood relative until we had our first child when I was 25. I find this to be unique. I wouldn't change anything since I've learned so much through my travels of searching for my biological family. I found them all and was able to reunite with them.

I may not be different from any other ordniary persons but still I would consider my self very unique to all others. My experiences in life alone and the happiness as well as the sorrows that it brought me can never be compared with anyone else. No matter what, I am a unique individual just like any other else.

Yes, experiences help shape a person, but it's very possible that you could have similar experiences to someone else. So, you aren't as unique as you think. You might be unique to some extent, but you aren't one hundred percent unique.

Well when you put it that way, it's true that nobody is unique.. even people that do have unique qualities can say there's someone else somewhere in the world who has those same qualities. There are people out there who look similar to you, and act similar to you. Or you can think of the impact you make on the world that makes you unique. If you believe in fate or destiny then you know you were meant to be here and do the things you do because you make an impact on other people, and that makes you unique. Also your loved ones think you're unique.. they love you because you are you. If you're married... or when you become married, you will be unique to your spouse, because they found no one in the world they love as much as you. When you're a parent you're unique to your children.. and each of them are unique in your eyes.. even identical twins who act exactly the same. We're all unique to someone. We're also unique to ourselves... nobody else has the exact same thoughts as you do.. at least not that you know of, lol.

I really do like your response. I agree with you. My partner finds me unique, that's hwy he loves me. Except, I still think someone out there can get pretty darn close to being like me.

Hi Stephanie! No matter what you say and what you do and who you are no two people are exactly the same! They can't be because no two people share the same DNA! And there would always be something slightly different if you compared yourself with someone else even if it was the slightest thing like they like peas and you didn't! There is something unique about everyone! We might not be able to put our finger on it ourselves, but it's there! What's unique about me is that I am me, nobody out there is exactly like me, likes the same things as me, does things the way I do! So what is unique about me is ME!

I agree that we are all not all exactly the same. The world would be quite boring. But, I do believe that we're not one hundred percent different from another person. I believe there is someone out there that likes the same things as me, has the same talents, etc. Even our genetics are similar, because I believe we all have some DNA from the first humans that walked the Earth. So, even though I am 'me,' I don't feel I'm very unique from the next person. We're all humans and we're all vaguely similar to each other.

Hello stephanie, No, I am not unique, the more Interaction i get here, the more i realized am not different as anyone else. even weird, different abled people aren't so different with each other since they're not alone. but i guess experience has changed me, i lost a lot of talent, but gained a few, i don't know why i had ever give it up. but maybe some how am unique because they are times that i do something that no one else does.

Please Steph, Don't treat yourself that way. You are unique as you are. There must be something different bout you that you don't even realize. Well, you may have same talent as others have, you may have ordinary face, ordinary life. So what? You are just you. No matter what people say about you. You are just you. And you are unique because of that. Why am I unique? Because I am me. Though you know, it is quite hard to just love myself like I have told everyone. But no matter how hard it is. I am swear that I am trying to love myself, forgive myself, let myself make mistakes, let myself be lazy sometimes. And you know what I am really trying to do now? I am trying to listen to my heart. To do what I want to do. I don't want to do anything just because that is what others want me to. What makes me different? What makes me unique? What makes me unique and different is me, myself and I. I am as unique as what I am, as different as what I am. So are you! ^^ You are unique! believe me!

When your thumb print identifies you as you alone and mine as me alone despite the billions in this world that makes each one of us unique, isn't it? And that makes identical twins not so identical either. It makes each of them an individual just like you and me. And I'm glad I am.

Every person thinks they are unique, at least. But I believe it somehow. Every one person is not exactly the same as the others. They may have similarities but they are not exactly the same in reality. I can say that I am unique regardless of what traits I have. But I can also say that I am unique in some ways only. I am different because I feel it or it can also be because this is me, no other else. It's very hard to explain how you can be unique and to understand it is even harder. All I can come up with is this: "Being unique is being yourself."

I just believe that everybody is unique. Unfortunately, I can't show you in which manner my unique. My birth, habit, talent, I don't think so. There are many people out there, perhaps have the same birth, habit, talent with me. I just thought, maybe my face and my thought is unique. Are there anybody else have same face and posture like me? Are there any body else have the same thought?

I look differently than others. My body parts is differently than others. My voice is differently than others. And we can continue It all time. You need be happy, because you are live here on this world and you are very unique person. Take care, Have a nice day!

We are unique in our own ways. I consider myself as unique because I think there is no one out there who is like me...(I think so...LOL). I'm happily married with 3 kids..but I don't quite like to mix around in the society. I like to keep things to myself. To make things simple, I am the quiet type but I am kind and loving and loves to smile. But one thing though, when i really want something, I'll work hard to get it. Well, I guess that makes me UNIQUE. And the most important things is I LIKE MYSELF...HOORAYYY!!!!

Not to be a downer, but I bet there is someone out there that IS like you. I mean, out of the many people in the world, I bet there's someone who has three kids and acts the same way as you. You might not be unique in that aspect, but you're definitely unique in your genetics and the way you think to some extent.

We are all unique by the way we are, we think, we love, we take our chances, we eat, we sleep, we get angry, we cry, we have fun, and so on. Yes maybe there are many people like me that enjoy one kind of music, but they are different regarding to other things, and so on. But i think that in the world there are many people that are alike us, but not equal.

what you have mentioned are all the tangible traits, no matter names or interests. There are many intangible traits or characteristics that differentiate you from others. You are unique because you have different thinking pattern and logic from others; you are unique because you have different tempermament and disposition from others; and you have different way of behavior and disposal. What most important thing is that you are unique in many people's eyes, your parents, lover and friends. So never suspect your uniqueness~ come on ~
