have you ever read discussions with "you're" interchanged to "your" and vice versa? it really annoys me when i see this mistake. i'm not an english major, but i certainly know how to construct sentence correctly.
in case some of you do not know how to use you're and your, here's the explanation and example:
"you're" is a shortened word for "you are" while your is used as a possessive pronoun meaning there is ownership.
example:
1. You are invited to my party. or You're invited to my party.
2. Please come in your best evening gown.
(in this case, we cannot not use "you're" because if we read it, it would say, "Please come in you're (you are) best evening gown." it clearly does not make sense.
happy mylotting!
i hope i

you're right! we are at our best when we are concentrated of doing just one thing.
i too am preoccupied right now, switching from editing (in my work) to writing a post in mylot. hahaha. i hit the wrong button and left the words "i hope i" in the last part.
my mistake!

If you're annoyed by this than myLots is certain not your kind of place. HEHEHE. There are so many post with word spelled incorrectly or wrong words being used that it would drive you mad. I read over the post and as long as I get the gist of what is trying to be said I am satisfied. Sometimes I have to go back and reread something but I attribute it to the fact that many people here are not native english speakers and the phonetic spelling is as close as we can expect.

misspellings don't bother me at all, as i knew it's a result of typo error, but the grammar at least should make up for it, especially if it's from someone who lives in an english speaking country.

Well, no, it takes a bit more to annoy me but every now and again I stop reading someone's post because the grammar is so bad that I can't make sense of it :-/ Especially when the posts go on for ages, no capitals, no breaks, the I just stop reading and go on to the next post :-) Preferrably by someone I know so that I know that I can make sense of it.

i also end up not reading the entire post, when i find that the grammar is awful, even if the post is interesting and informative. i only find myself correcting the grammar and not paying much attention to what is being said.

incorrect grammar is one of my (many) pet peeves. I just can't stand it (even when little children are saying it) when someone says, "I flowed in a plane" or "I ated that apple". And when people get contractions wrong, I flinch.
