Sad news I heard from my co - worker during a casual conversation, his wife has a body check the other day, and they found out that she has breast cancer. The possible procedure is go through operation first to see how it works out. Other than that, we just have to pray. Pretty sad to hear that, and I knew both of them are really frugal type of person, and they won't randomly spend money on anything, or go on a trip to enjoy their lives. Although with all these money saved, She might or might not go through this. I would say, while she can, let her enjoy a little bit of life. Anyway, we can't bring all that money to grave.

It's a shame to hear about that, it could happen to any of us. I do believe that life should be lived to its fullest, but at the same we all need be responsible in terms of finance, not only for ourselves but for people around us. In situations like this I think if a person can confirm that its a terminal illness then one may consider using spare funds to enjoy life but never forgetting younger family who may depend on your wealth at some stage.

That's horrible news! However, spending money needs a formula just like financial institutions do. Most financial advisers will tell you 10 percent of your savings is yours to spend.

That's true you can't bring all that money to the grave. I think she should go through with the surgery, there is a chance that she could indeed be cured and it's been happening more and more. If she wants this to be the end of her life so be it, but if she wants to be a strong warrior against this, I'll be cheering her on =D
