Im a big anime fan just to say to the readers, but when i mention anime to certain people they laugh and make fun of me stating that its nothing but little kid cartoons that I at age 16 should not be watching. So for anime fans out there do you think anime is anything like american cartoons.

The only anime they're familiar with are probably Pokemon and Bakugan. If they feel they need to tease you for watch you watch, they are the immature ones. Anime are still cartoons, but different from American cartoons. Most of the American cartoons are made to be goofy, and target small kids. Anime has different categories you can choose from. In cartoons, the multiple battles between good and evil were usually one sided with the heroes winning everyone. Avatar the Last Airbender is the only exception I can think of right now. In anime, the main character(s) is sometimes not protected by the writers from being killed.

I don't think its that your reading anime I think it's because at age 16 people expect you to be reading 17 magazine and chasing after the love of your life I say read it and don't mind them I think doing what you want in most cases is the best choice as long as you aren't harming yourself or others of course. Have fun and happy lotting!
