What's the big deal about Dakota Fanning?

Her potrayal as Jane has not overnight turned me into a screaming fan. I now, as always, have been unimpressed by anything she does. Overacting, cleverly disguised narcissim, and wooden stage presence. Instead of "Jane", I saw "Dakota Fanning starring as Jane". She's a mediocre actress, at best. AnnaSophia Robb, a couple months younger, and far away a better actress, and more likable person. Yet I'm sure noone has even heard of her. Is there anyone on this planet who feels the same, or am I jaded?

Hmmm, I think we have different opinion about her. I think her role in Twilight only minor one. I like her a lot in I Am Sam and War of The Worlds. She's a very talented young actress and seems very grounded. She's only one of a few actress that still goes to regular school and continuing her education in university, unlike many young actress who were manufactured by Hollywood (Vanessa Hudgens, Miley Cyrus etc). She still have a long way to go in the industry. I saw Anna Sophia Robb in Bridge of Terabithia and I agree with you she's also a very talented actress. Both still very young, but I think Dakota started out first, she's only 7 or 8 when I am Sam wrapped the production.

i also have seen the movie "i am sam". and she did very well in that movie. she is still young then in that movie,

I totally disagree with you. I think Dakota Fanning has amazing talent and a fantastic resume for someone her age. She is a much better actress than other chuld/young adult actors. I'd hardly say that her Twiliht saga role is noteworthy- Twilight is a fad and not nearly her best work.

I think she's a great young actress. I think she has some room for improvement yes, but even at her age I think she is a million times better an actress then kriten steward... 
now when compared side to side, do you think she is really that much of an over actor?

I loved Dakota when she was just as small kid especially in the movie I am Sam. As a teenager, she has yet to show he acting sklills. Or I guess they are not good roles for her yet.
