Are you an ultra cheap person?

Do you think you are cheap on spending, or are you generous? I would say that I am cheap, and I don't want to spend a lot of money just to show off myself, for actually some money I rather save in my saving account. So, how cheap are you? Do you rather shop at the local thrift stores, or dollar stores to get your items; or would you rather shop at the shopping mall with those overpriced items? Do you cheap on giving tips too?

I am a very cheap person. I shop at the dollar stores whenever possible, go to yard sales, and will take free items if possible. I have to be that way since we have alot of kids but we get to enjoy things in life as well. I think the kids understand the reasoning behind me being cheap. I tell people too where I get bargains but they just look at me funny at times.

I used to spend a lot of money on fancy, trendy clothes and accessories every week, and on dining out, but then, after realizing that nothing's left on my savings account, I realized I have to tighten my belt and learn how to not splurge anymore. Now, I'm loving how to buy everything in bulk for me to save more,I also use coupons, I seldom dine out on expensive restaurants unless for special occasions.

I am glad people always learn from their mistakes. Not that I am saying spending money is a mistake. We do like to enjoy ourselves with good stuff sometimes, don't we? But it really depends on situation. I would like to save money because I have think for the future. I can't always ask my parents for help.

I'm very cheap person :) I always look the cheapest price. If I will not married I will by not millioner because my husband don't care about money so that what I save he spend. I don't buy for example clothes with big mark who cost many money because have famous name. This same is with food I don't need buy for example chocolate for 1$ if i can boy for 0,50$ but without famous name.

Reading other people comments, I guess I'm really not cheap at all. I guess I'm generous. But here is my story. Lately I don't go shopping anymore. I just pick up a few things (nothing I would consider shopping) but I shop at the mall, I would rather spend a little extra for quality clothes. because remember you get what you pay for.

I wasn't cheap until I met my girlfriend, who is always concerned about saving money. I never new how fun it could be to shop at thrift stores and such! I only buy clothes from discount stores, such as tj maxx and Ross because of their low prices, and large variety of clothes. Ive only spent a few dollars over the last month, and that was mostly on gas. Buying from goodwill has been a godsend for me. That store has EVERYTHING!!! So yes, I'm very tight on money and consider myself to be a very thrifty person ;D

I love thrift shops; but, our last dollar store went out of business; so, I can no longer shop there. I still enjoy shopping in malls; but, I buy clearance and sale items and if I can combine those with a coupon I do! You have to be careful about buying things that are cheap; because, if they are cheaply made and the quality is poor you really haven't saved anything because you will need to replace it more frequently. Buy good quality items that will last; just at the lowest price you can find them for. Tipping - I try to stay near the average tip range (unless I get really bad service). People that rely on tips are NOT being paid minimum wage AND the IRS requires them to pay taxes on a percentage of the food/services that they provide on a weekly basis whether they earned that much in tips or not. (That is to make up for the taxes that the government was losing because many of them were not reporting their tip income or were only reporting part of it). So, not giving them the tip is like stealing money from them; because, they have to pay that tax whether they receive the tip or not!

it depends. hehe i'm a generous spender when it comes to buying stuff for my family and loved ones. sometimes i go overboard. but when it comes to myself... i don't like to spend a lot on me. and i also don't like other people spending so much for me either. i teach my nephews and nieces to save by leading an example. saving is a great habit to have. and very helpful too when an unforeseen financial need comes. i still have 2 piggy banks i conveniently keep. and i gave one each to my nephews and nieces. as to shopping... i only go out to shop when i really need to buy something. no window shopping means i'm not tempted to shop at all unless i need to. hehe i visit thrift stores, dollar stores, shopping malls from low-end to high-end and specialty stores... and buy wherever i see the ones i'm looking for that fits the budget. unfortunately i don't have the great shopping skill (not being a shop-aholic hehe) and i don't know how to haggle prices in the flea market so i rarely visit those. i give tips but i'm just not sure if it's cheap or generous. hehe perhaps depending on the service also if i really like it.

I think I am a cheap person. I don't like spending money for whatever reason. I keep worrying about the future, that I'd rather save the money. But of course, I need to spend on things we need at home. I think that's why I sometimes I get moody when I go grocery-shopping. I need to win the lottery...

I shop at thrift stores and at dollar stores whenever possible. I only leave cheap tips if there give bad services. I try to give a good tip whenever possible because I know the waitresses and waiters could use the money to support their families. With the bad recession I need to save money in order to survive. My husband and I have a very limited income and we never know from one month to the next if my husband will get a good paycheck or a bad check. He works parrtime and never gets the same number of hours each week. I have not been able to find work yet and it is worrying me. I am hoping to make money by selling some of my crafts online. I am looking into making soap (I have a kit, but I need a second microwave)and I will be making felt ormanents, mosiac ornaments and dough ornaments.

I do watch my pennies. I stretch money as far as i can, since my husband and I are retired. His SS does not nearly meet what he was earning.

I am thrifty. I like to look good but I shop at thrift stores and other second hand shops. I even shop at outlet stores to save some money and get name brand things. I think your personal appearance is really important. Its how people view you as a person and they will respect you more if you portray yourself like you give a damn. that's just my opinion happy lotting
