I've heards of all sorts of home-remedies for smooth skin, from dipping your face in oatmeal to spreading mashed banana and milk on yourself like lotion.
I've never tried anything like tht, but I've always wondered whether or not any of it works.
I thought that your skin can't reallya bsorb nutrients, and the way to get better skin was to do it inside out- eat lots of fruits and veggies and your digestive system absorbs and utilizes the nutrients...but being the icky eater I am, I don't like a lot of the vegetables I should be eating. w

I know a friend who uses no make up or skin care but soap and water to wash her face before going to bed. And she has nice skin. My grandma did the same, and she, too has enviable skin glow. But I have lots of friends, too, who like to experiment with anything and everything to have a glowing skin.
For myself, I use simple basics like face powder and lipstick and just wash my face with mild soap and water before I retire for the evening.

Yes you are right. The best way to gain beautiful skin is from the inside out. Your nutrition matters and unfortunately, fruits and vegetables in the diet is a great help. Drinking lots of water matters to because it helps flushes out wastes from our system. For added glow on your skin, a good and sufficient night sleep is also indispensable.

The best way to take care of your body and skin is by living natural life. Eat simple food. Eat vegetables, avoid spicy food, eat fruits, drink water properly, do exercise and try not to worry about things. which means do not get hyper about too many things. Try to stay happy as much as possible. I wish you all the best and happy mylotting.

Drink lots of water, around 7-8 glasses a day. You'll notice a big change after a month of doing that. That always works for me... I don't apply lotion or creams anymore. I also take vitamin C everyday to make it smoother and young looking.
Plain water and vitamin C... Try it, it works! ;))

I've hear that the way our skin looks is a result of the things we eat.
When i was teen one friend was doing a test with chocolate and his face pimples.
He loved chocolate but stopped eating it, because he saw it's a good way to run away from all the pimples he got in the teen times.
I know that my face skin was great after an apple and honey, after lemon bath too :)
Never tried but i want to take a bath with milk too :D Unfortunately it's too expensive and i don't have bathtub, but i would try, if i could. This milk soaps we use all the time, are not so milky as i want :)
I don't think that dermatologist is the best choice for people who don't have real problems with their skin. One friend of mine, who study in Germany, was on dermatologist here in Bulgaria and the doctor gave her recipe for very expensive creams. She found herbal products and she said that the result was much better with the herbal, than with creams and pills doctors gave her.
I'm happy that i don't have so much problems, and even i don't eat healthy and smoke. But i'm trying to make myself little procedures when i can, so i can feel better in my skin and to like it more than before ;)

I know that oatmeal is good for a scrub, and olive oil used to be a cleanser, but I feel it is better to eat the fruit and veggies rather then plaster them on your face. True, it does look kind of snobbish (if I can use that word) to plaster an avocado skin mask on your face, for example, but would it not be better to use it by eating it and getting the benefits all over your system?
The only thing is that it would do good is in the case when one is allergic to the many chemically invented formulas used in skin creams. And usually if you go to a health store, you can pick up a skin cream made with natural ingredients.

har har har well that sounds like we both dont eat much of the veggies our body needs. i guess this kinds of remedies or things that people advice to put on faces, it all depends on what kind of skin you have. i saw my wife putting extra virgin olive oil on her face. mixed with iodize salt and put on her face like a scrub. some i heard on tv puts egg white and some puts avocado. i may not stand the smell if i will put that on my face. har har har.

Yes veggies and fruit are good for one man though in my case I have horrible skin even though I eat them and drinks lots of water.
I just hope one day that I will have clean clear smooth skin instead of being ashamed to look at my face all the time and dodging mirrors I really hate it.

I think that everything should start from the inside. I mean you really have to eat healthy foods like vegetables and fruits if you want to have better skin. You should avoid eating too much carbohydrates because it can make you break out. As for the fruits to be applied to your skin, I think that it will work as well as the expensive creams that you can find in the market. But I still think that it is still best if you take it or eat it.

I also haven't tried any home remedies for smoother skin. I also believe that it should be in your diet instead of applying it directly to skin.

I have heard that glutathione is a great skin care regimen. It helps to brighten your skin of skin discoloration. It helps with cell turnover as well. The only catch is that you may have to use this for the rest of your life for prolonged results.

The best way to have a wonderful skin is to consult a license dermatologists. They are the only one who knows about skin care methods and procedure. No more oatmeals dipping your face, smashed banana or different kind of lotion products to be used etc.
