I just open my email yesterday. I find more than 2000 notification from facebook. It made me upset and makes me hold back whenever I want to open my email... I hv to erase and keep erasing until I found the important emails.
I wonder if U hv the same problem and what U're going to do about it. Is there a way to stop it?

You can stop notification from FB to your email. Just go to 'Account setting' under the 'Accounts' (top-right). Select Notification Tab and select which items do you want to be notified. Dont forget to save your new notification settings.

I have solved this problem my un-checking email notifications in my Facebook account. Since then I am not getting any notifications. You can set your privacy, notifications according to your needs. SO, do that if not your email will be filled up with all those unwanted emails for Facebook.. All the best.

I don't really know if you can block facebook notifications or turn them off, but you do what I did... Type in the search box of emails (under Check Mail / New) "facebook" and when its done select all the results by checking the master check box and delete. Can be done with others like friendster and emails that flood the inbox.
