I am waiting for my lunch in mini restaurant in my town then I've just thought about my problem several minutes ago. I couldn't connect new PC with Vista Basic OS to the LAN properly. The ip address was configured correctly, workgroup is match but I couldn't perform printer sharing in both ways. I tried ping to the Vista PC and it's work. It's work when I ping from Vista PC to other PC. I think the problem is on Vista PC but I don't know why. Does anybody here has experienced the same? How to resolve this?

You have to change network settings in vista.Normally network sharing disabled by default in vista.Go to internet settings and configure your connection.I think, i might be your problem.

My office has Laptop with Vista OS but I was able to connected it to the network. I think connected two OS, XP and Vista is allowable. So I think the problem is in PC with vista OS. I couldn't find where the problem is. Maybe there is some setting that I don't know. I need someone help me to find out the correct configuration.

you need to manage a domain network,
if u understand the networking,
so it manually rather than auto connect
you need to setup things manually , like IP and DOMAIN NAME
Domain name should be same on both computers otherwise you cant do that,
networking cable also have 2 types
parallel & crossed
for connecting directly you need crossed cable

I have connected computers many times. I set IP address correctly and I use the same work group for all computers that connected to the network. I could ping from other computer to the Vista PC and vice versa. Network explorer in Vista PC working well. All computers connected to the network has shown. I can do file sharing between Vista PC with others computer. The only I couldn't do was printer sharing. I am sure, the problem is not in network. I think the problem is in the Vista PC configuration and I don't know yet.
