If Queen Elizabeth is Penny Pinching, why can't we? What are your ways of penny pinching? For me I tried to buy only what I need and think 3x or more if I'm just buying what I want. I have a limit price on how much an item should cost and don't buy if the item is more than that. For example a blouse for me should not cost more that P500.00 and a pants not more than P1,000. Lol, stuffs like that. Have you got anything to share?

I try to save on electricity, because that is very expensive where I live. I don't leave any electronic appliances on when not needed, and I also collect all my loose change (small coins, etc.) in a coin jar, to have an additional savings plan. These things really work for me!

Hi Puccagirl! I do that too. It does lower our electric bill and it's safe too specially at night when no appliance are plugged on when not in use.

Right now my husband and I are trying to figure out how to save those pennies. The Penny Pinchin' we don't have to worry about too much but would be very good practice for when we get our own place. That is what we are saving for now, our own place. We're trying to save and pay our bills too. One bill we can pay off and not have to pay no more so we're both online trying to earn the money for that. My husband and I don't spend too much money on clothes and don't buy anything new unless we absolutely have to.

Hi! I work online too. It's really hard to earn. And when I'm able to pay my bills monthly I'm already happy. Thank you for sharing. I hope you guys can save enough to get your own place. Have a good day.

Just like you, I only spend on the things that are needed: food, things for the baby, stuff like that. To be honest, if I need clothes, I go to the so-called tiangges or thrift stores. I also control eating out. I cook my own food and bring it to work. That's just some of the things I do.

Hi Moonchild. Nowadays, we really need to spend wisely because everything is expensive. Buying clothes in Tiangges and Thrift Stores are very practical. Thank you for sharing.

For me and my family, we save money by buying things on sale or buying in bulk. We go to the local wholesale distributor and buy things that we always need and use. I'm talking food here because clothes can always be taken care of in one way or another. It may cost a bit more at one time, but well worth it in the end. For instance.......we pay 3 pesos for a kilo of flour in the local supermarket. But, if we buy a 10kilo bag at the wholesaler, it's 2pesos or less per kilo. So, although we have to spend more money at one time than we'd like to, it saves us money in the end.

Well, we are all always in the process of penny pinching. But, but.................... Please do remember, there is a LIMIT to which you can control your expenses. You can buy the cheapest pant, but you HAVE to buy one to cover your modesty. There is no escaping that. But, remember, there is NO LIMIT to how much you can earn. Yes, even sky is not the limit for your earnings. So, instead of focusing on controlling expenses, concentrate on your earnings. it is always a wise thing to do.

Maybe i should copy your way of pinching, whats the opposite of penny pinching, coz that would be my wife, i cant pinch what i dont have, she has all the money i only tell her what i want and she buys it for me, we live on a budget scheme, 1 week for food is P3000 for me that is too much but she always says she adds more to that from her own money,, w/c i dont believe, to make the story short whenever she goes to the supermarket she shows me the receipt she always has to spend the amount before going home, just last Saturday she gave me the receipt for just P2,500, i was so glad but then after my smiles, she showed two more receipt from Red Ribbon for Braso de Mercedes and 5 packs siomai from 7/11. Still P3,000 is all spent.

I am also learning the habit of being a wise buyer. Before spending on something I always make sure that I buy the same stuff at the cheapest possible price. I also limit my spending and set a budget on how much I spend every week.

I've been penny pinching since I got my first job and until now; I'm married and of course mothers are good in penny pinching.
