Why do some people LIKE their own post on facebook?!

I just don't get it! What is wrong with them? What is the purpose for LIKING it? It's their own post. (?!)

Well same this as "I like myself". Yes! there would be no other people who will like you until the day you die except yourself right? The reason why people post them is that they like it so what's wrong with them? There is nothing wrong with them it is a human behavior I guess.

It's not the issue. It is the fact that the button is not built for that purpose. Many misuse it unknowingly.

There are MANY things facebook developers didn't think about. And they have more serious problems on their site they need to fix yet than that LIKE button.

I disagree. If the "Like" button is not built for that reason, then you shouldn't be able to see it, right? I'm pretty sure the Facebook developers put a lot of thought in it, and if they put the Like button there for you to see and use, then why not use it? If Facebook doesn't want you to do something, they can easily remove a function from their site, but they don't. :)

I don't get it either. I have never liked my own posts or photos or anything else. But there are different people.

Do you actually have friends who do it? I'm surprised. I thought only my friends do it. Unless you are from Philippines too.

I'm so glad I'm not the only person on Facebook to notice people doing this. There's nothing like being in love with yourself and agreeing with everything you say, Ha Ha Ha Ha Brilliant post, made my day, thanks...

He he some people are like that if no one comments are if their post is unread by anyone, they might feel like themselves liking. In my friends list very few are like that. I haven't come across such people in my face book account.. I feel you should ask them the question you are asking here, may be they can give an answer that might satisfy you more than we assuming or imagine and give answers to you.. what do you say?

Most, if not all people here have facebooks too. LOL. See? There they go with their reasons. Atleast now we understand them.

I've done it a couple of times just to be silly. It's all in fun. Nothing should be taken too seriously on facebook or any other site. They're for fun and keeping in touch but I see so much drama on there. *gesh* But that's another topic entirely.

Its just that people like their own post so much that they cant help liking more as if posting it isn't enough. I DO like my own posts sometimes.. Like for example: I posted a status update with my crush and I went alone.. I love it so much that posting it doesnt made me contented.. so then I like my own post to actually say that i really love that happening or that status. Its simple as that.

Well you just type I like it. lol. You've been posting anyway. The reason they put the Like button is to save time typing 'i like YOUR post'. Not I like MY post. But that is just my opinion. =)

I know one guy who did that few times. I went to a party & got drunk. He made a post on his facebook & didn't even remember it till the next day. He got back on his facebook & realized he posted something. I remember him saying, "it was pretty good being that I was drunk at the time." & he "liked" it.

Then that is reasonable enough. lol. He just read it without knowing he posted it. Sometimes I do post there without remembering too when drunk.

The reality is that there are people for everything, and each one has different ways of managing, in this case when the people are weighted and boasts, this one loves one itself us defining a bit his way of being, because of it it does the same thing with his post in facebook, a clear example of that that I want to say is the Portuguese football player Cristiano Ronaldo. Equal I consider that this well to believe itself it a bit, to support the high autoestima and not to get depressed.

All I can say is that it's the next "in" thing. People liking their own statuses. or they just love their statuses so much that they can't help to like it. I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Maybe they want their post to be published in the Top News feed that's why they're liking it.

Top news? So when more people liked it, it will be shown in top news of their friends wall? Is that it right? I didn't know that. Anyway I still think it's silly to like your own post because that is why you post it in the first place! Why would you post it if you don't like to post it?

I'm not really sure if my assumption is right. I just noticed that the statuses appearing on the Top News feed have a lot of likes and comments.

It's so gay the people who do that get no love so they have to like their own status always the new people to sign up to facebook that do that or the ones who are always saying some deep quotes all the damn time like you are always full of life coaching skills

I "like" my own post sometimes and I don't see anything wrong with it. If I share a good news with my friends, and I like the good news, then I'll "like" it. Same with other stuff I share. And no, not all I post are things that I like. Sometimes I post news link of a politician I dislike. I don't "like" that post, but I post it anyway so that my friends know I dislike that politician.
