yes, it is really make us to feel better for second hands items.. when my cousin wanted to go back to our country, he wanted to give me his pc, mostly in my country we would never sell things to our relatives , if they need it then we give them as a gift, when my husband refused to accept free, my cousin said then only 999 RS. before we take the pc, I went to my country and did not want to come back.. so my husband did not get a chance to see my bro that time and he gave it to his gf..

As to whether a second-hand computer is good or not, it depends on how long it has been used and its state. If it is in good condition, you may get one.

The bad thing is that there is no warranty with it, so if you have to get repairs, you have to pay the whole shot yourself. It is good if you just need it for university or school work or to do email and surf the web, but I would not depend it on other then that. I consider it a stop gap until you are able to afford a new one.
You also have to remember that it might be out of date and it cannot do the things that a new one could do, so It might not be able to run Windows 7 or even Windows Vista, or if you are an Apple Fan, not the newest Mac operating system.
You could try to get a refurbished computer. These are those that were bought by someone, and he either could not afford the cost, or something so he returned it to the store. The store will fix it up so it is better then new and you can get those at a lower price then what they would have been brand new.

presently I am using a second hand computers and second hand laptop. All is working fine. I am a computer tech and I have first hand knowledge about parts and that gave me an advantage in buying second hand PC.

For me buying a new computer is better than buying a second hand computer. Most of the second hand computer will not work and it will give more problems.Of course the rate of a second hand computer will be low only compared to new one but due to maintenance and all the rate will reach almost similar to new one.So i will prefer new computer than buying a second hand computer.I will be happy working with a new computer without giving any problem than to buy a second hand computer and face a lot of problem.

If you do end up using a second hand computer I would recommend erasing the hard drive and reinstalling your operating system (Windows, Mac, Linux, etc.) Make sure you have the reinstall discs before erasing your drive!
This will make sure that all the junk they installed previously is removed and that the system is clean from viruses. Like the old saying goes... you never know where that's been.

Well it depends on your needs. If that old computer is not needed for heavier workloads then I guess it may work out with you. But since that second hand computer has been used already then there is high chance that the PC may become ineffective depending on its former user's usage.

It is hard to say. Actually today the brand new computer is not very expensive. I won't consider to buy a second hand computer because I am not sure whether quality is OK. If there is something wrong with it, it is not easy to find out the reason. And everything will be so frustrated.
I love China

The purpose of purchasing is to do some work and earn or play games or read news etc.We do not purchase computers just for the sake of purchasing.A second hand computer is always a second hand computer only.No one can give guarantee that it would not give trouble and headache. Better go for a new one.I remember a saying.."If you want to punish a person present him a second hand car". The same thing applies to computer also

I am not going to seconh hand electronic items, because they have no guarentee and its my experience of two time they run for some days, so not look at the cost and go for new one so you save from future expenses.

Hi friend, good to hear that you are interested in buying a second hand computer. There is nothing wrong in buying second hand things, if it is good and in proper working condition. Check twice before buying your second hand system. Wish you to get a proper system which works for a long time

Well, of course I can't speak for all second hand computers, but my computer is a Frankenstein which is actually made out of several second hand computers.
My girlfriend bought it from the computer tech at her work for $50.........we just had to buy speakers and a mouse pad for it.
It's not the fastest thing in the world but it can do pretty much anything any other computer can do.
And I've kept it running now for over 3 years with no major problems........that is to say, nothing I couldn't fix myself.

hi I got my computer years ago used as it was free from my sons work place. they were putting in new computers so my son was given two free computers and two free monitors. over the years my son has replaced just about every element in my computer with new parts so we did not spend a lot as this was all done in pieces over a number of years. and my computer works just as beautifully as a brand new one. rarely have any problems and my son,a computer programmer by trade, keeps it working really well for me.

It depends on who you buy the computer from. I know some guys who refurbish old computers for resale and they are decent machines by the time they're finished with them...but there are other folks who might just want to get rid of a computer they abused and is on it's last leg.

Some are, and some are not. It depends very much on where you buy it and from who. But it is definitely possible to buy good ones still. You just need to do a lot of research and check the computer properly before you buy it in order to make sure everything works. It also helps if you go to a reputable seller that someone recommends to you.
