I was in the drug store yesterday waiting for my prescription. There was a woman sitting beside my husband, waiting also. She got up, walked over to a dispaly rack, and picked up an inexpensive camera. She put it on the seat beside her, on top of a plastic bag she had. Next thing I knew, the camera disappeared into the bag.
When she got up to get her meds, I told my huband what she had done, and he replied, "it's none of our business".
I didn't want to fight with him, but later, in the car, I told him it is our business, because I end up paying for that camera with higher prices to cover the store's loss.
I wanted to report her. Would you?

You meant, we common people have to compensate for all these unfair activities, right? Yeah, it then becomes our general duty to take proper action. As a quick step, you could bring this to the notice of storekeeper.

for me no, besides she will get caught also due to surveillance camera around the store and its the guard responsibility. what matter is i am doing the right thing. besides if she was able to scape for that moment then there will be a tendency that she will do it again and again till she get caught and put them to jail nor pay all those. besides shoplifter normally pays X10 of the original price. so if the price of the item she got is 100 dollars then she will pay it for a thousand once caught.

I would only tell if I actually worked for the company or if the store was one where I shop regularly. There are better things in life to worry about.
