I'm not sure and can't believe with this news, reported in the UK there is a husband-wife pair of black leather get their biological baby who was white-skinned, blue-eyed and blond?? This is extraordinary and more extraordinary is their baby not an albino baby ... is something wrong?

Well, uhm, I suck at genetics so I have no idea what I'm talking about, really. But when you brought this up, I wondered: if both parents had recessive genes from Caucasian family members up their family tree, can't that appear in their children? I mean, recessive genes DO tend to skip generations, after all. Maybe there just happened to be a coincidence that the Caucasian recessive genes in both the parents decided to spring up at the same time and combine in their child. ...wait, is that possible? As I said, I really sucked at genetics, haha. Interesting story though. Mind if I ask for a link?

Thanks for the link. So they were Black parents. The baby looks like she is wearing a wig...most babies and especially blonds don't have that much hair when they are born. It just doesn't look real. My ex-sister in law is white and married to a black man. Her to children are both a beautiful dark tone but not black with big brown eyes. When they were born...they appeared to be white for a short time. I agree...this is more than likely not true.

This once happened twice, there is also one story that happened in china, they had black baby. They ended in court, but when tracing there genetics in here fore parents, they had a black race.So that can be,for hundred years it did not appeared on the family just only now.Genetics are mostly the big reasons why.

These days anything is possible. Did they do invitro or something like that were doctors could have made a mistake and used the wrong sperm or egg or both? I remember watching the talk show Maury and there was a couple on one of the paternity shows that had close to the same problem. The husband thought the wife was cheating because their child wasn't black. They were both slightly darker skinned and the baby was light skinned almost white with red hair and blue or green eyes. Even the audience condemned this woman as a cheater and she cried that she wasn't. They did a paternity test and it was his baby! I've also seen where a woman had twins but one was white and one was black and they had two different fathers. Amazing.

I am not quite sure what you mean? In the title you say that a black couple have a white child, but then in the post you say that a husband and wife of "black leather" have a white child ... which to me sounds as though you are saying people who wear black leather (maybe bikers) have had a white child, which does not sound unusual since people wearing black leather have white skin. If you did mean a black couple as you mentioned in the title, then the woman probably had an affair and the child has picked up more of his father's genes than his mothers.

I can't seem to find the video of the parents with child from Sky News but anyway..in The Sun the baby looks FAR whiter than the baby shown on television yesterday. The photo has obviously been tampered with in some way which wouldn't be the first (or last) time The Sun has done this. I reckon the father should have a paternity test to see if the baby is his!

Every thing is possible friend, the mom can only say who the father of her baby is!!! Thanks for sharing the nice story. Welcome always. Cheers. Professor

Some British papers tell stories which are not true or they expand upon a story to male it more interesting. Usually a black set of parents would give birth to a black baby. Maybe one of the black people had a white relative like a grandmother. The baby took after her completely not one of his or her parents. Years ago with test tube baby making there was a mistake. The couple got twins: one white and one black. They had mixed up the samples and had used the husband's plus another mans.

Yes, I heard that news too. I think it's amazing and maybe it's because gene variation not albino.

It is amazing that black leather was able to have a child at all. At least people will stop killing and wearing it now that we know its an intelligent being capable of reproduction.

Was the mother or father white? I remember reading somewhere that this couple had one white child and one black child because the mom was white and the dad was black. That's the only thing I can think of though. That would be pretty amazing if that actually happened.

I remember that this was discussed in High School during Biology class. Can't remember the exact words but my teacher, who was also a certified scientist, said that this outcome is possible although the ratio was like a million to one or a thousand to one. That is the reason why I was not surprised of the story. In this time and age, if the parents are doubtful due to babies are being exchanged at times without their knowledge, they can always have the blood check to see if they are really the biological parents of the baby.

It's probably genetic, sometimes we don't know we have those kind of race and onc ewe found out we are shock and I was when I read this discussion or prolly momma got a secret haha. I would jsut it is simply amazing yea but really amazing!

This can happen due to a number of different reasons. There may have been a mutation in the sperm/egg/newly formed embryo making the child white, there may be parental issues (i.e. someone else is the biological father) or it could be a fake. There are other possibilities, but they are less common, but it surprises me that it is white and not albino

There is something definitely wrong with this picture! What aren't they telling us? I'm sure there's some hidden knowledge somewhere along the line! When I think about it it seems virtually impossible to have a child that looks radically different from its parents! I guess it all relates to the gene thing although I know very little about that! It sounds a lot like a donor baby or something of that nature but I'm just speculating! If this is true then it has been nothing less than a freakish, unique event, one in a billion or something! I don't understand how it could happen though. If the parents are black then the child should also be black. Well, I will remain in my confusion until the boffins get some answers if that is what they are trying to do. Andrew

I also heard the new in television recently.I am very shocked by the news that time. How incredible the situation is! But today I also saw a research about that miracle. It was said that it probably caused by genic mutation and the percentage like that was very very rare in reality. Now I have become to believe that impossible is nothing.

If this is true , but I doubt it, then it would be amazing in fact. But, I think the child should be tested first if the two of them really are the real parents. If the test turns out positive then I would say that this would have something to do with their genes. Maybe their ancestors weren't so black after all. If the test results come out otherwise, then the wife has got some explaining to do.

It is genetically possible specially if one of the couple had a white ancestors. Genes that was not passed down can occur on the 5th generation or higher. just a little bit of info. Have a blessed day
