Recently, my guitar amp has been sounding horrible. Its pretty cheap, but it worked perfectly fine before. Now everytime I play with it the sound is way too distorted. I even turn off the overdrive and turn down the gain and it still sounds distorted. For example, my gutiar (Epiphone Dot Studio) sounds perfectly fine in some one else's amp, but with mine it sounds horrible. The sound "vibrates" like crazy. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I am going to buy a new amp in the future, but not right now. I am saving up for a new bass amp and bass. So is there anything I can do to fix my amp without spending money?

Hmmm.... Let me start by saying that I am a fellow guitar (and recently bass) player. I haven't encountered a problem like yours though... Do you think that you may have blown the speaker by playing too loud at a certain time? That perhaps could be the cause of all the vibration. Could I ask how loud it is -- Watts? It may not be able to handle very loud volumes, especially if it is cheap like you said.
You could also maybe take the amp to your local guitar store and ask someone what the problem may be. Maybe it could be an easily solution that you wouldn't have to spend any money on!

Thanks for the input. You're probably right about playing too loud. I tend to blast it and recently I've been playing my bass through it since I broke that amp. I'll probably just get a new amp. Like a Line 6 Spider or Crate.

You're welcome, glad I could be of some help! Also, playing your bass too loud through the amp could also do damage, since the bass will be putting more bass sound through -- kind of like when someone turns the bass up real loud in a car stereo and it blows the speakers.
Yeah, a Line 6 Spider would definitely be a good choice! :)
