It won't be easy to interfere somebody else business, especially you are just bystander. My co - workers were not in harmony these days. They were in some sort of fighting mood, and ready for an argument. I don't really know what was the deal with them, since our boss was in his vacation this week. I hope that they will be peace down until the boss is back. Because we all want just a peaceful working environment and let everyone done their work assignment. I just wonder if you saw your co - workers in fight, would you are to interfere as a peacemaker? Or you rather stand aside and watch the show?

I would try to intervene, but do not know if it would do any good. Most of all, I would tell them to ssh as the boss might come in any minute and I do not want to see them get into any trouble. I would not want to come out as a busybody.

I would make sure the boss sees that I am trying to stop the fight and not join in. And that is what I would say, that I have no idea why they are fighting but I cannot get any work done now as they are shouting at each other.
To which the boss will say, "don't worry, get back to your desk, I'll handle it!" and he will tell the quarrelers, "All right you two, I want to see you in the office right away!" so that everyone in the office can hear him.
By the way, he probably saw them start it and figured it would blow over and he also noticed that I was trying to get some work done, and I had to throw an inordinate bunch of papers (more then usual) in the waste basket, so he could see something is wrong.
And since I was closest, and I could not go all the way up the aisle to talk to him, I was the only one brave enough to tell the two combatants to quit.
See? I have thought it all through. And a wet noodle to you for thinking the boss thought I started it all.

see your pay-slip, ... for an increment in the salary, for this brave-deed.
you are no more just an employee of the office. YOU are my CONFIDANT, .. and my personal friend from now on. ..
how about a dinner this weekend? ..

For me, I won't bother their business, until they get into my business. No, I won't do any peacemaking work, it is not worth the effort.

one day or other, the persons involved in the fight, or conflict end up on my desk.. and, before they start nursing the grudge... is it not hightime, for me .. to nurse their wounds.. and bring peace to the overall atmosphere/
if I avoid it this time, I will have to pull out a more bigger crowd the next time, because, .. these fights and conflicts get DISCUSSED a lot in the lunch room.
i WILL never encourage this sort of back-stabbing POLITICS in my office.
thanks.

I am a peacemaker and so I am likely to intervene. However, I might not intervene openly. I would most likely talk to them separately during lunch time, etc.
