Coincidences in life

Have you ever experienced coincidences in life? There was once I was thinking about a friend for a few days, then I happened to meet her and she invited me to her wedding. Before this chance meeting, I have lost contact with her for a few years, and now a few years has passed and I have not seen her ever since the wedding.
Do you think this is a strange coincidence? Sometimes, we were just thinking about someone and that person calls, or we have a premonition that we are going to meet somebody and we did. Did you have such experiences?

hmm... now this topic really makes me think of the instances Ive experienced it. well, I did tried this experience a lot of times but I tend to forget it since I wasn't too amazed that it was really something like that. well, The one that I considered as a coincidence is when Im still a high school that I had this weird dream of my crush and in that dream he gave me a necklace with a silver key-shaped pendant. when I did told him about this dream he was so shocked to know it because according to him, he had also a dream wherein he possessed a key. a small key that he placed in a necklace. To cut the story short we both thought that it's merely a coincidence. But that thought or experience made me really happy and amazed somehow.

This story is a bit strange unless you have feelings for each other and this created a good opening for you to start a relationship.

Well, in my case it don't really happens like you said. Usually I will dream about what will happen and it will happen accordingly to the dream. Lately, everything that happens in my life, I actually had experiencing it in my dream. Ever since I entered university that I have this experiences so often. Before this its only happens like once in a month.

Premonition is like a forewarning of future event, a feeling of anticipation
similar words: foreboding, portent, omen, sign.
I think it works something like sixth sense too.
Hope this helps!

Wonderful idea about dreams, that is another topic I would like to discuss. I also have experiences where real life happenings seemed to have just occurred in dreams, or a scene appears to be familiar, like a deja vu. If this happens to you often, you might have some sort of six-sense or premonition power. Good luck to you!

Talking about the Civet Coffee from the Night Safari experience which I had just posted in my discussion which you responded to and the clip in the news, would you believe that someone actually offered to sell me? Oh dear so much talk about this special type of coffee. Are all these coincidences in life? I would think it is!

Yeah, I was surprised to read your post, about your visit to the Night Safari and being introduced to the coffee, because I have just read it in the papers that morning and it's a just a small article of maybe less than 100 words. I think that is really a coincidence!
To all others here, if you want to read about the post, here it is:

I find it happening quite often among people close to me. People mentioned that I can "read their minds" by finishing their sentences for them, but it is not so. It is only because I know them well and can anticipate their reactions to certain things. I think it is very common to all of us.
Thanks ann, your experience with your husband often happens to me too.
Thumb, we respect your privacy and thanks for sharing that about you and your brother.

Yes, I have had a number of these "weird" coincidences...They are quite personal though...So im not sure if id feel comfortable mentioning them on the internet. But the everyday ones are common occurances..I often find that me and my brother think the same things a lot! like, we finish each others sentences and stuff like that.

We all call it co incidence, But i call it the power of attraction. when we think, our mind creates vibrations and the things tend to happen. Our power of attraction can be used intentionall to attract things in life. When we think good we attract good and when we thing bad we attract bad. The mind or the subconscious mind cannot distinguish right and wrong. It creates vibrations everytime you think and things happen.

It has happened to me several times. There was friend i hadn't seen for more than 15 years and i was thinking of him.Suddenly he paid a visit to me.Similarly i was out of touch with another friend for a relatively small period, suddenly i received a mail from him.Bu in the second instance the friend was going through a tough period.I can't explain but these incidents do take place.

Thanks picjim, I would classify these incidents as one of the mysteries in life, which doesn't have to be solved. We can just enjoy the interesting aspects of it.

hi, wow, that's a coincidence.. I got a lot myself. but here's the recent one
Im currently staying in a place where there are a lot of foreigners. Then one of my dormmates is from canada. Who would have thought she knew my childhood friend who migrated to canada and they were good friends and their moms were working together..

Such a nice coincidence, did it bring you closer? Now you would have a lot to share with your dorm-mate. You can become very good friends too. Thanks! Your story is very heart-warming.

Yes i have also had such experiences in life. On my last birthday i was just wondering if my best mate would come or not since i had not seen him for a couple of years and the next day he turned up and got me the most wonderful birthday gift ever which i even keep till today.
Coincidences rarely occur for me and when they do they leave me with a very good feeling.

Maybe that's not so much of a coincidence? Being your best friend, he would have remembered your birthday from time to time and decided to give you a pleasant surprise!
Good coincdences are always lovely

yes! i just had one last week or maybe some other during this week. i remembered my professor in communication 1 while i was walking on the sidewalk. as i looked ahead of me, he was there, approaching. hahahah. i was surprised by how i was suddenly reminded of him and the fact that i'm going to walk pass him at the same time. i think these instances have something to do with the ESP (extra sensory perception). everyone has this ability in some way. some people have strong telepathy as in when you're thinking of something to say to a person and that person sense what you're already about to say. another form of ESP is synchronization. this is like when you and your friends wear the same color of shirt without even telling each other to do so. these stuff are really quite interesting :D

ESP is indeed interesting. I believe there is a lot of study in this area, from the early days in the 1920s where they used card guessing as a research to the 1960s where they experimented on memories and responses. I think this is one of the things which could not be proved nor disproved, I'm not sure whether any kind of conclusion has been made.

Yes, i think so. But based on my experiences, when i want to talk to someone whom i didnt talk for some time, i just concentrate and to contact her into my mind like the so-called "mental telepathy". And gotcha, after a minute or an hour he/she will contact me. I only do this for those who are close to me.

I think life is so wonderful and we people dont have the knowledge to understand life thoroughly. And this is an example of that wonderfulness :)
for me coincidence does not exist, its a straight line between the beginning and our end :) thats my opinion. Thanks
