Buying the wrong thing

Some time ago I had seen some magazines in an ad and I decided to buy them, because I thought that there were some pictures that I could use in my art. I didn't know that there was a comic which had exactly the same name as the magazines I was looking for. When I got the magazines I realized that I had bought huge pile of comics instead of magazines for women, and there wasn't single picture that I could use! I couldn't help laughing at myself and the situation, and my husband still teases me about it
Have you ever been disappointed in something you bought online or something you bought via mail order? Have you ever bought the wrong thing because you misunderstood an ad?

i don't shop online.but i guess i have experienced buying the wrong thing.i thought it was a shampoo but it was a conditioner,my mother always have this attitude.sometimes also my sister, but for me,i have the attitude of buying something then after going back home,i was not interested at all with what i have bought, that's why if it's clothes, those will be of my sisters to use now, haha.unless i really need that thing,i would really use it.
about your magazines,i guess you have wasted your time efoort and money for shopping that thing and of course, much hassle cause it's online shopping.it's really hard to shop online cause you can't have physical analysis about the said product.for me,it's still advisable to shop where i can touch or smell the product i have to purchase.

I have made the same mistake as you, I once bought conditioner instead of shampoo. I was in a hurry, and just grabbed a bottle in the shop, I didn't look at it probably. When I got home I realized that I had plenty of conditioner and no shampoo...
I have also bought toilet paperr instead of paper towels for the kitchen. I was shopping for my grandmother and I bought her a huge package. When I got home I discovered that I had bought 16 rolls of toiletpaper instead of paper towels for the kitchen! At least she didn't run out of toilet paper for a long, long time

yeah,i guess if we really are in a hurry,it's really possible to make mistakes in getting the items.really! so,it's really better to read before picking items.some bottles or items nowadays have similar looks and appearance that are very confusing,it really takes time to read before you know what's what, right?
well,at least those items still can be useful, not to be wasted, that's what's good right?happy mylotting, porco!

I rarely shop online. But I have a similar experience, in fact it happened just last night.
I went to a very busy restaurant asking for a dish of chicken for home. While waiting I saw one of the waiters is preparing a sweet and sour fish for another customer. I asked him how much was that dish, it looked yummy. He mentioned a price and I thought.. ah next time after I received my payroll. So, after I got my order, I went home and how surprised I was when I open my package. It was the sweet and sour fish that I was drooling about at the restaurant! I laughed and took pity on the waiter. The owner of the restaurant would have to deduct his salary for his mistake. Well, I can go back next time and pay the difference if they remember me.

So you got your sweet and sour fish anyway That was a funny coincidence, I would also have laughed when I opened the package. When I eat at a busy restaurant the waiters sometimes make mistakes, but I don't think that I have ever been in the the same situation as you. When I get a wrong dish it is usually a dish that I don't like at all...

This wasn't over the internet, but not too long ago, maybe a month, I went over to Staples to but some new pens to use for line-arting my art, but when I got back home and tested them out, they were the same as regular old pens you can find wedged between the couch cushions. When I finally figured out what type of pen I used to use before the ink ran out I had to go back to Staples.
What I found pretty funny was that the pens that didn't work cost more than the ones that did and there were less of them in the packet.

Yes, the most expensive things are not always the best, I have experienced that as well. In my country we have a shop called "Tiger" where everything costs about $2 or $4, and I have sometimes found some great things there. Some of the notebooks and other things that we can buy there are just as good as the ones from the bookshop, but in the bookshops everything is much more expensive. I love pens, and I have a lot of them. My husband usually teases me about it, because I have so many different ones

Thanks for your response. In that situation I would also have tried to contact the person, but if the number is invalid it isn't easy to get in touch with the him or her.

Yes, I bought a duplicate book by mistake.
It was a Chinese novel. I bought it once five years ago. But the publishing company changed cover and republished it one year before again. Because I desired the next episode so much, and the book was packed by a plastic membrane so I couldn't see the content. So I thought it was the sequel wrongly. I regretted so much when unpacked the plastic membrane and saw the content after paying for the book.

I can imagine your feelings when you unpacked the book and discovered that it was the same one. It was easy to make that mistake when they changed the cover and wrapped the book so that you couldn't see the pages.
I once bought the same book twice by mistake, but my situation was a bit different form yours. I used an online shop, but the site didn't work properly and I wasn't able to finish my purchase. I decided to use another shop instead and within a few days I received my book. A couple of weeks later the second book arrived! I thought that the site didn't work and that I wasn't able to buy anything, but I was wrong. They obviously received my order, and I ended up with two identical books.
