VAT on toll fees starts on Aug 16th

Heard this on the news. Eek! If this fee goes up, we know that a lot will follow -- fees on public transport, "pandesal" (ok, kidding on the bread but well... yeah, it could happen!). We'll see if anything goes on in the news between now and Aug 16th. I think it's safe to assume that there's going to be a lot of protest on this one

Nonoy approved such VAT impositions, which i find really stupid. Almost at the same time that was announced, it was reported that Makati owed the BIR billions in unpaid taxes. Then why doesn't the BIR just focus on big businesses for their tax target than impose additional taxes that would only hurt ordinary citizens. This nonoy administration is starting on an awfully bad note and i only see things getting worse.

I think protests are already underway. This is on top of the 200% increase on toll prices. This is complete and utter BS in my opinion and Pnoy should do something about this or he himself will break his promise to his constituents.
