Hi guys, can you share me some tips on how I can gain weight in a month? I will be attending a reunion next month and really want to look my best. I've been very thin all my life, no matter how much food I eat in a day I barely gain weight.
I really want to look good this time, and I hope to hear good things about my looks from my old friends. So please help me... thanks!

If you have been thin all your life it might be very hard to gain weight. But what I would do is eating late at night helps. I'm thin as well, but I have hips and a butt nice for my size. So far thats what eating late at night got me. So eat late at night then go right to bed. As in lay down or go right to sleep. I was suggest to eat bread, potatoes, fat food like that, might help. Good Luck!

Thanks, I'll try that. Probably not regularly since as soulsshine said it could have bad effects in the long run. But you also have a point there Keshia, eating late at night will help gain weight, I know others who have done that too, and added weight safely. If done in moderation and not on a daily basis I'm sure it will help me get to my goal safe and sound :D.
Thanks for the tips:)

It's really interesting that eating late night helps to put extra weight. I didn't know it before but I think you are right.Eating late night reduces the time to digest foods properly and burn as fuel. So rest of the foods are preserved as fat in body muscle. I'm sure it can increase your weight but don't think it's good for your help for long run. When you won't give your body enough time to digest foods it may cause health issues that arises from digestion problem. And when fats that are gained with foods don't get time to burn well they can end up to create unhealthy weight gain...and over time you may face some problems. So I suggest to put weight in a natural way so that it never hamper your normal body functions.

I only eat late at night when I'm hungry. I cant sleep if im hungry. And the latest I stay up is maybe 10, 11 o'clock on Mondays (have to watch real housewives of New Jersey) :)...I'm 21, 5'5 and 112 pounds, i promise eating late at night hasnt effected me, and wnt effect me in the long run, because like i said I'm in bed by 10 and I eat before dinner way before bedtime. I was just giving a suggestion to the young lady who wants to gain wait.

Now this is a switch and you are fortunate to have this going for you. LOL... I have to work hard to maintain my slender figure. I would say that is not the logical thing to do.
Get extra dolled up, look really great and believe me when you walk into that reunion, you never know everyone might just envy your slenderness as they may be so very overweight.
Have fun at the reunion.

Hi hardworkinggurl,
Unfortunately some of those people who will be attending the reunion, were the ones who used to criticize my body. That's why I'm quite desperate about gaining some weight :D.
I want to hear something good and really nice from them this time. Something like,"Wow, you are so sexy, what's your secret?". I might need just a few pounds, just to eliminate the unhealthy or anorexic look.
You're probably right about some of them being overweight now. Hmm... then it would be my turn to criticize. Hehe... I can't wait!
Thanks for the great advice! Quite inspiring, :)

Dear, my problem is on losing weight in a month!
Gaining weight is the easiest thing on the planet for me. How I wish I had your problem.
Keep eating! That is all I can say from experience! Lay down after meals, be a couch potato, be lazy, eat a lot of sweets, sleep whole day. Shame on me!
If still to no avail, try on a dress that makes you look fat. I suck at fashion so I don't know what to say.

best way is eat eat eat eat and eat, eating 5 times a day can make you gain fats then exercise every day so that fats can be made into a muscle, means the more you eat you must burn more fats.

drink 1 glass of filled milk in the morning and another one in the evening everday. And also eat a doughnut in the evening. I guarantee you, you will gain weight. :) Just make sure that you take these everyday. :)

Gaining weight is fast achievable than losing weight. Eat a lot every day and your problem is solve, plus sleep no less than eight hours and presto, you will be robust in no time. And don't forget to drink a lot of water and energy drinks, these will help a lot.

I guess for other people, gaining weight is much easier than losing weight. But in my case, gaining weight is a very difficult feat... I do eat a lot, I don't skip meals, I have snacks in- between, and I mostly have enough sleep.
I think the problem is internal, I ought to see a doctor as what the other poster suggested. Your advice is good, I might include energy drinks in my daily diet. Thanks for the help, have a great day ahead! :)

i would say the best possible way would be to go on a calorie deprived diet for months losing a good deal of weight. then suddenly start eatting everything and anything you please. its a really good way to pack on weight. the body is just naturally trying to survive in this state by packing on the pounds quickly after being calorie deprived for so long. i do realize you wanted a way just to gain more a weight in a month without first going on any type of diet, but this is just my thoughts on gaining the fastest amount of weight in the shortest period of time. i guess you could just take some stuff to stimulate appetite to gain weight. one last thing i would suggest if your not first interested on going on a calorie deprived diet first in order to gain weight quickly which your probably not(lol), then may i suggest peanut butter used on a butter knife and wash the peanut butter down with a sugary drink. that should pack on the pounds as peanut butter is one of the fattest foods there is.

Great advice elmiko, I love peanut butter. I've written it down to include in my daily diet. Your suggestion about calorie deprived diet for months might work, but I only have a few weeks left for the reunion... I don't have much time left.
Thanks for the tips!

Gaining weight was never a problem to me so i can't fathom someone requesting a method to gain weight. Why not gorge on cakes, ice creams and fried foods?Foods high in fat could also aid in weight gain. Why not consult a specialist if you are constitutionally thin as they might prescribe a way to overcome such a problem?

Hi picjim,
I'm actually considering to see a specialist, I look anorexic and I'm not comfortable about it. Some of my friends are quite worried about me now and have been advising me to see a doctor to. I'll probably do it one of these days, I really need to look good for the reunion.
Thanks for your advice. :)

Hi cheszka,
Oh, this should be my problem. Unfortunately, I am on the other in of the spectum. If you have had trouble gaining weight most of your life, you may have some medical reasons, like hyperactive thyroid or a very fast metabolism, which means it will be little difficult for you to gain much weight.
What have you done in the past to gain weight? I know that 3000 calories is equal to 1 lbs. Maybe if you start counting your calories and increase them each day, making sure they go up to 3000. To pull this off would mean that you would probably have to eat some unhealthy foods, not a good Idea.
I don't know if you are a physical fitness addict, but if you are you are burning all the calories that you are consuming. You will never gain any weight if you burn every calorie intake. So, watch the excessive exercising and the food intake and ajust them accordingly to help you gain your desired weight.
Good luck

Hi angelgirl,
Yes I'm kind of convince now that I have health problems and I need to consult a doctor about my weight. It's true, I also read in one article, that a person with a hyperactive thyroid barely gain weight, even if they eat a lot.
About your question, 'What I've done in the past to gain weight?' I haven't tried counting the calories yet, but I do eat a lot. I never skipped any meal... I eat about six times a day including snacks.
No, I'm not a fitness addict. In fact I barely exercise for fear of losing more weight. But I will do take your advice, I'll start counting the calories from now on. It's probably going to be difficult getting to 3000 each day, but because I want change badly, I will try everything I could to get to that goal.
Great advice there, thanks a lot angel :)

hi cheszka.....i am abj from india i joined gym before 3 months and i targeted to achieve 5 kgs in 3 month......i know it is very for some people to gain weight easily but thats not easy for me.....my diet is good but my wieght never increases.....it was still from last six months......in these 3 months i gained 3 kg weight instead of 5 kgs....my trainer have told me that losing weight is easier than gaining weight....means you can lose 2 kgs in one month but its very hard to get 2 kg in one month.....if you wanna gain some weight then try this formula given by my gym trainer to me.......if you want muscels then you have to eat more protein and if you want fat then you should eat carbohydrates......but carbohydrates are not good due to fatness and cholesterol ......so you must eat protein rich food like eggs , soyabean.....but dont eat soyabean daily....just give one day for rest then continue it........the white portion of boiled egg contains protein and yellow portion contains carbohydrates.....if you will eat yellow portion for one month continuously....but it is risky to eat too much yellow portion.....just eat 2 eggs per day for a month but start it with 1 egg and slowly increase it....2 eggs means both white and yellow portion....white portion will increase stamina and yellow will increase fat and weight..but avoid to eat too much yellow portion...i eat 4 eggs per day but only the white portion of it...and i eat yellow very rarely...means 1 yellow bulk in 10 days because i dont wanna get fat i just wanna slim and healthy with high stamin...banana is also helpful for gaining wait.....so try it also.........hope this will help......
all the best

Getting weight in just a month can be an easy task if followed correctly with discipline and hard work, you should be able to put on a good weight gain of about 20lbs in short order. Let's get to it -
Gain Weight Step 1 - Eating:
Eating is the first and most important factor that is needed to gain weight. It's simple- you need to eat more calories than you burn. This doesn't mean eating anything and everything that is not nailed down. Carefully plan your meals with foods that will help you to gain lean mass, not fat. I recommend you 6 meals a day, breakfast, lunch, dinner and 3 small meals scheduled throughout the day. The goal is to eat in every 2.5 to 3 hours.
You should focus on foods such as steak, chicken, fruit, milk, vegetables, cheese and assorted types of nuts. Milk is a great, cheap protein source, so take advantage of it by drinking at least 4 tall glasses of milk a day. Eat 4-6 pieces of fresh fruits a day. A simple snack meal can be a glass of milk, an apple and a hand full of peanuts.
Eat 500 calories more than you do. So, lets pretend that the day you counted calories you counted 2000. For the rest of the week, you would now eat 2500 calories a day. To get big, you have to eat big, remember that. You can do this by adding pieces of fruits, nuts, seeds or juices, or by simply increasing the protein sizes of your meals.
Eat foods that are nutrients dense, calorie dense and healthy. The main object is to eat food that are clean. Eating high-fat, unhealthy foods will cause you to gain weight in an unhealthy way while predisposing you to risk factors. Eat foods like avocados, nut butters, lean meats, fish, dairy products, fruits, vegetables, and pasta.
Gain Weight Step 2 - Lifting:
As stated, proper eating is of utmost importance when attempting to gain weight, but if you do not lift weights, the majority of that gained weight will be fat - not muscle.
When trying to gain weight, you need to work out three times a week. I suggest you to lift hard and then recover for the next workout. Focus on the big exercises such as squats, deadlifts, bent-over rows, chin-ups, bench press, and military press. You need the multiple-joint lifts that will shock your system and stimulate your body into growth. Perform high sets of heavy weights with low reps and long rest periods. An example would be 10 sets of three reps with two-to-four minutes of rests. Reduce long periods of aerobic exercise.
Gain Weight Step 3 - Supplements:
To gain serious weights , you need supplements. That's what they are, supplements to an already good diet, and training program. Think of supplements as the finishing touch.
I suggest only two steps supplements for those wishing to gain weight. The first is a weigh gain shake. The shakes I recommend are ProLab's N Large 2. It's the best value out there. It will provide you with 620 calories in one easy shake and is specially good for people who do not have times for breakfast, orsnacks while on the go.
The second product is Creatine. Most people gain 5-7lbs in the first two weeks of Creatine use. If you are interested in quick weight gain, and increased energy for your workouts, Creatine is definitely worth to go.
So don't waste your time and try hard to put weight in your muscles. have a good luck!!!

Eat a food that suit your taste, usually when a food fit your taste it will be more delicious for you, and you will eat even more than if you eat foods that you don't like.
and also eat the food with high fat, because you say you want to gain weight.
some excercise when doing this also good for your healthy.
good luck.

Just yesterday, I started shopping for some fatty foods, hotdogs, bacons, etc... which I will have for breakfasts. I really love those foods so I'm optimistic that in a week I'll gain a few pounds. I'm also conscious about my figure, so I'm careful not to get really fat.
I'm desperate to gain weight.. but a few pounds will do, just to eliminate the anorexic look. :)
Thanks so much for the advice!

Hmm... by reading your post, I now realize why I don't get fat, It's because I hate sweets and don't eat much junk foods even as a kid.

weight gain is something that is isn't easy to do and you probably know that already..i know first hand because i've been in your shoes before..a skinny body type. but the key to weight gain is to do BIG. you have to eat big, to do big, to lift big.a lot of people think, even me, that weightlifting is the key to gaining weight,it is an important part, that's why i enrolled in gym before, but i read that's there's another thing that's important when it comes to gaining weight, and that is your diet..
there are some simple steps to gain weight,. eat a lot food. eat a lot of bread, pasta, rice, cakes, ice cream, chocolates, sweets, everyday. Drink at least 1.5 liter of softdrinks a day, milk every morning and before going to bed.don't hesitate to eat anything you want, anyway your aim is to gain...count how many calories you eat in a normal day.don't change anything, just eat how you normally would and count how many calories you consumed.
Starting the day after you counted calories eat 500 calories MORE than you normally do. pretending that the day you counted calories, you counted 2000. For the rest of the week you would now eat 2500 calories a day. Instead of eating 3 big meals a day, or eating all day all the time, spread those calories out over 5-6 smaller meals.Eat one meal every 2 and a half to 3 hours. To get big, you have to eat big! remember that!
you also have to go to the gym to weight lift,it's another important step to gain weight.they have programs to gain weight. just do it correctly. At the end of the week weight yourself. You'll notice you're gaining after one week. 1 to 2 pounds per week is okay, that's 5-8 pounds in a month. and at some point you'll stop seeing weight gain, and at this point you have to eat even more..so when you stop gaining weight for at least 2 weeks, it means you start eating an extra 250 calories a day. Every time you see you haven't gained weight for at least 2 weeks, add an extra 250 calories..
And..do you have a lovelife?..u must have one to be inspired,..it's boring to eat alone he he...also some women are really thin when they are still single but tend get fat once they get married and have children. it's not a joke,..i used to be very thin like you,remember?..i used to do this steps to gain weight, and look at me now,..now i have to do the other way around.. i did everything just to LOSE weight,..gym, diet programs, after six, some exercise,etc.,etc.,etc.
now, just do it sis!.. let's see the result!..

Most want to lose weight lol, but you want to lose, any way eat lot of sweets, oily food, might help, being thin or fat is some thing not only linked to food but hereditary too, more over it has connection with ones mental state, happiness, satisfaction, worries etc
nice discussion, i wish you gain weight soon
