Hi!
One of my friends has a 6-year old son, he goes to the nursery school. The school organized a bicycle tour. The children were told that they have to learn to ride a two-wheel bike, otherwise they cannot join the group going to the tour.
The son of my friend could ride only a three-wheel bike and get so stressed from this, that he could not learn to ride the two-wheel bike. They did not take him to the tour.
I cannot imagine how big a tour organized for 6-year old children can be, but would think that it is not a very long one.
The boy was really upset, as smaller children could join the group, but he had to stay at the school.
What do you think of this?

Awww, the poor little kid! Too bad the nursery school didn't offer to teach ALL the little one's how to ride a two wheel bike, so they ALL could go. I would imagine that little boy feels like quite the loser right now, which is not a good feeling for someone so young. And he'll probably remember this too as one that was left out of the fun.
They should have made an extra special day for the children who could not join the group, and maybe took them to the park to eat lunch on a picnic, or take them swimming or something! So sad, people don't realize how uncompassionate they can be and create ill feelings in children at that age.

Thanks a lot for your comments!
Both ideas could have helped the little boy: either the nursery school should have taken attention that all children learn to ride the bike or they should have offered another activity!
I agree that children are sensitive and this action caused ill feelings to the boy.
