Is that true that tragedy is more impressive than comedy for people?

What I mean is not only in movie sphere.Things happened in reality are also included here.
I am quite curious that do you think tragedy always leave a deeper impression on people than comedy does? Maybe the more time we shed our tears, the more impressive we feel in our heart.
