I'm 22 years got pretty stable job as of the moment and currently living by myself. Having tattoo could be one of my greatest accomplishment in life, I was thinking of having an ambigram or lettering tattoo on my arm, however there are things that bothers me when I think of having those inks.
Do you have tattoo? How did you decide to have it? Who influences you to make you decide? Do you have any regrets having those inks on your body?
Or do you know someone who has tattoo in their body? How do you see him/her as a person? Does having tattoo's makes person a little more different than any other?
I'd be glad to read some of your personal point of views about this.

Well, I don't personally have a tattoo since I am against it. Sure you would have a great tattoo at the first few years but after that when you get old your tatoo would look as bad as your sagging skin will be. Have you ever seen a good old permanent tattoo that still looks good after you get old? A lot of my friends have tatoos in different parts of their bodies and most are permanent. I have gotten used to it but I still don't think a tattoo is worth it.

Getting a tattoo is a very personal decision. Don't let peer pressure sway you either way. This is your body and you are going to wear this forever. I want to get my avatar on my inner left wrist. When I was little I had two little chicken pox spots on my inner left arm. this is the way I learned left from right.they are noe faded so I want to get my favorite symbol in that spot.

No,I have no tatoo on my body at all.And I don't like tatoo.I only like things with purity. If I had tatoo,I think my appearance didn't look so clean.(Well, that's just my individual argument). What't more,it will be very inconvenient and troublesome if I want to clean my tattoo out.

I think that it really depends on the person that is getting it and the reasons for it. I decided to get a lady bug tattoo because I have made some research about it and according to some beliefs, it can help you to find the true love of your life and it can also bring you good luck. I badly need a good luck and I want it to be always with me, that's why I got one. I did not get one just because I wanted to show off. It is my own personal reasons. As for other people, I think it is ok. I mean that is their personal decision and I could not judge them just by the ink on their bodies. Just respect each other.

Well I currently don't have a tattoo right now but I plan on getting one when I hit 18 next year or some time after that. I would defintely get one if I were you just be careful. I read some where that you shouldn't go to places where the tattoos are really cheap because they reuse the needles making it easier to transmit diseases to their clients. It also said how much a tattoo should cost for a specific size. You should go look it up. I just don't recomemnd getting something really big. Get something that you can cover up because at most jobs they really don't like people with tattoos that are visible. But I'm sure you don't have to worry about that for the time being since you have a job. The only problem with having a tattoos is that when you get older the tattoo will look deformed because of the sagging skin. lol!! I just wanted to mention that because one of my teachers had a tattoo and you really couldn't tell what it was.
I say go for it but take precautions!

I love the ambigram tattoos, they fascinate me to be honest. I currently have three tattoos, and plan to have a full sleeves, and back (not sure about the front side yet lol). My own tattoos each have spiritual connections and were done in correspondance with where I was and am on my spiritual journey.
The very first tattoo I had done was my triquetra on my right shoulder. It was to remind me of my connection with the Goddess, in all her forms.
The second tattoo was the Seal of the Necronomicon on my left shoulder, which matches my husband's on his chest. It was done in part to fully seal my relationship with my husband in a visual medium. It was done secondly to remind me of the connection of man with the ancients.
My third tattoo is a beautiful blue lotus on my foot surrounded by fire with an OM in the center. It is on my right foot to remind me to walk my path daily. I plan to have the exact same one done on my left foot, but as you know monies are the necessity so I'm patient and wait.
I always laugh at the comments "Oh, wait until your old and sagging". Most of those tats that are no longer visible were done with low quality inks. The inks we have today are incredible! And those older folks I've seen with actual tribal markings done in Hawaii or over seas in Japan are just as beautiful after much aging.
I think you have to do what you want, what is in your path and not listen to those around you who are making your mind up based upon their own values and ideas. At the end of the day, it's you who must live with your life not anyone else.

I suppose tattooing is a preference. It use to be the old stigma that tattoos were for gang type people but that concept has changed with time.
I really don't understand how it would be a great accomplishment, except maybe because you are proud of what this particular one symbolizes and well who is anyone to judge.
Tattoos these day have evolved so much that there are some really tasteful one. One of your responders stated that a wrinkled old lady with a tattoo looks bad. I suppose at that age who really cares what anyone thinks their body looks like...kidding...LOL
